Wouldn't have to worry about it if NY allowed crossbow in archery.

Deer season may be over but check your targets before you pull the trigger. http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2011/12/flushing_teen_who_died_while_p.html

Depends on your skillz. Snipers do it every day. What kind of holdover are we talking about? Sighted in for 100 and shooting at 200 yrds isnt to difficult If you are fimiliar with your weapon and fireing at known distances ( ie. range finder ) and can dope the wind and you have a target at over what you have the gun sighted in for than it is perfectly fine to hold over. They even make a whole line of scopes for this. But if were talking about sighted in for 100 yrds and shooting at 400 or 500 yrds that would just be plain luck or superman skillz to acheive a hit ( and yes there are some people who can do this all day long ). But if you shoot alot and know where your gun hits at every range than I dont see the problem. But I agree it's easier just to sight in for a certain range ( 3 inch high at 100 is what I usually do ) and move for a closer shot.

I would suggest a comparitive study Bible. They come with 4 versions in one Bible for easy reading and comparing of scriptures.

2012 Election
erussell replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Problem for her ( Palin ) was she went after corruption, cant have a none corrupt politician in office it wouldn't be natural. Corruption is just as rampant with the Libs as with the Repub's. Think its funny how the Libs were all over the Catholic church for child molesters but now that its out that there colleges and there backers in Hollywood like the little kids to, there silent. huh, double standard much? -
Poplar trees as a food source?
erussell replied to Fantail's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I hate popular trees, I have a bunch of them around my yard and it never fails during the summer we get one good wind storm and a bunch of them fall over causing me more work removing. -
Any try russets before? My neighbor has a couple of russets and the deer cant keep off them. They are a small very sweet apple and kind of look like a russet tater. I kept about 100 seeds to try and grow this winter.

:D  Their talking about size matters and you came back with you should play with it in the back yard first to see if it works. To funny, sorry couldnt resist. Thanks for the offer, I went and got one the other day though.

I was thinking more of a car

Geeze you guys must have flipped a lot of rocks to find that many sheds. Ive been trying to find the rock that 2 bucks I have on camera put there sheds under all week and still no beans. They must have put them under the ones I cant lift I guess.

I would love to shoot a deer with a 458.Lott they must fold like cold butter on a hot bun with that bad boy. A 500 grain bullet with 6000 ft/lbs of pressure must just smash them into the ground. Though the $160 sticker price on a box of federal premium safari would slam me on the ground.

Or actually read the instruction manual that the camera came with. Mine gave a list of cards that were compatible with the camera and gave a warning that said not to use any others.

This one i just took out and put in the camera and it started working so i guess it is fine. Took camera down Saturday and had 70 pics. One set was of 8 deer in a group posing for pics including 2 bucks who possed nicelly with there heads down showing where there racks use to be. Been scouring the woods all weekend but havent found the rock they dropped them under yet. In the process of downloading the pics I accidentally deleted them while creating a new folder to put them in. I created two by accident and deleted the wrong folder like a jackass. So no pics to post. I can say I am extremely impressed with how nice the pics were and I had it set at 1.3mp to. Set it to 8mp and will see how the next batch turns out. Put cam up in different area Saturday. I think I will let it set 3 weeks and see whats on it.

Has Anyone Seen These Slugs Before? They Look Down Right Nasty!

Have an older friend that I hunt with, that has hunted with an antique smooth bore shotgun and pumkins for all of his life. Then one yr he missed a monster and wanted to get a new gun. I suggested the Mossbergs because they were on sale and do just as good at killing deer as any of the more expensive rifled shotguns. He came over to sight it in with a bag of brenneke KO's. We got it on paper after a few shots but the group was anything but tight at 50 yrds and 100 was terrible. I guess the sticker shock of 12 dollars a box for sabots had convinced him to go with the lesser priced KO's.at 5 dollars a box. I convinced him to spend the money on some good quality sabots and he would not regret it. He went out and got 4 boxes of sabots and came back. After a few sight in rounds he shot a three round group at 100 yrds that touched eachother 2 inches high of the center. He was rather impressed and said he had never seen anything like that before out of a shotgun. I said get use to it.

Probably made out of Latvian, cold war, melted down depleated uranium sabot Tank rounds. They'll burn right through a hog but you will have to carry them in a special lead case or they will give you cancer. -
That would suck. I took a bunch of pics of myself in the back yard and threw the card in my camera and it showed pics so I asume it means its ok?

I was transporting a 3-D buck target in the back of my truck in late May a few yrs ago. It had a huge ten point rack on it. I passed a Sherrif on the way home and he spun around and sped up behind me lights and sirens blairing. He came up and looked in the bed then came to the window and said oh its just a target. I saw the rack and wanted to check out what was going on. I said Deer dont have antlers this time of yr. And he actually said well it could have been some other kind of deer. I said no it really couldn't have been because they would have shed there antlers by now. Then he started to get pissy so I dropped it. Still have a good laugh thinking about it.
