Just bought a Stealth prowler xt ( on sale plus dicks 2 yr replacement warrenty it came to $111). Have not put it outside yet, plan on putting it out after season is done. Have played with it alot inside and am quite impressed with is so far. Little complicated to set up but once I learn what buttons do what i shouldnt have to carry the owners manule around with me anymore. I notice that stealth owners say that there cameras are slow to trigger. This one say's 1sec trigger on the package and so far its been pretty close to that as far as I can tell. I have the external battery box from a prior 35mm camera I had before but it was a 6 volt battery so I had to make some adjustments to the box then ad a 12v so we'll see how good the battery is. If it lasts as long as some people say it may be out there for a while before I can tell you how well it works. OH yeah I still have to get some SD cards to glad I reminded myself.

When is the earliest that you usually find them? No wonder I havent seen any bucks the last few days theve been sneaken past me as doe. Wiley suckers they are.

Nah you can keep it. Puts a bad taste in my mouth. Would rather shoot a spike on stateland than anything behind a fence, don't care if it 1000 acres or 10,000 acres. The spike is more of a trophy.

Holy Sh-- are you kidding me!!! Was watching a hunting show the othernight and a guy shot a massive ten point the middle of DEcember and he walked up to it grabbed both antlers and picked the head up and both popped off in his hands. Scared the crap out of him. Pretty funny!!!!

two yr jail term seems a bit steep for improperly afixed tag and wasted flesh ( whatever that means ) I don't know about you but if I pay for a guide he better be takeing care of all that or im throwing him under the bus, if you know what I mean.

I dont get it. I see some places that raise deer, sell them as shooters or breeders. So where do the pet shooter deer go? To game farms where they are killed behind fences or sent to ranches like the ones in Texas to be shot?? I see one place I looked up had 4 shooter bucks for sale for $36.000. Seems a bit pricey for a stupid deer. Must have been like shooting a pet cow. Stupid kid.

Im amazed by the amount of old TV's, full paint cans and stereo equipment that gets shot up and left on stateland. That stuff I just pile along the road and it disapears so apparently someone else is picking up stuff to.

Picked up two garbage's full of shells alone last spring on my local stateland. Already just as bad if not worse after this years hicks went in there for deer hunting. Wish they would make it illegal to practice and sight in on stateland.

Sheeesh what a bunch of crabby pants we get on here sometimes. I hear you Doc, most of the land I use to hunt just 20 yrs ago has a house in the middle of it. Use to wonder all over the place when I was a kid toting a 22 and nobody would blink an eye. My buddy walked down his road going hunting on the neighbors land and a new neighbor from the City came out on his porch and yelled at him and said he was going to call the police because he was walking down the road with a gun. My buddy stood right there and said go ahead, Ill wait and the guy went back inside and he went hunting. Anywho. Posted or not it's been my experiance that if they want to hunt it they will. Had to kick a guy off a week ago who was posted up about 50 yrds from my stand when I came in for the evening hunt. He left just a grumbling. Apparently the 500 acre farmers land next door wasnt enough and I had to have all the deer on our 168 acres. Suprise, suprise I didnt see a thing that night. Guy must have wondered all over the place looking for those deer I was selfishly hiding. My grandfathers neighbor who litterally owns a couple thousand acres ask him if his family could hunt on my Grandfathers 68 acres. Gramps said sure if we can hunt on yours and the shmuck said no, never mind. What a dumbarse.

No there all dead or missing legs.

I see you hunt or are from Erie county Wooly, I cannot speak for your county because I have never hunted there. Maybe your deer are a little smarter. But I think you give deer a little to much credit. They have hightened survival skills, yes. But deer are still creatures of habit. They find something they want to eat, they will get to it somehow. Anyone with a game camera and some time to kill can harvest just about any deer they want to, provided you have access to them, which can be the hardest part of the hunt. Knowing your property and how Deer relate to the terrain yr to yr is a huge part of the equation. The rest is just numbers and luck. Deer are not smart in the literal sense of the word, they may seem crafty because they know where no one go's and they remember where that is and head to it as soon as the pressure starts.

It wasnt to long after Antler Gate it closed up. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? -
Hunt wolves and coyotes and Bear back to near extinction. Give me more deer tags.

I'm not sure weather to be mad or laugh. A 30/06 at night? Seriously? These two must be a bit touched to think no one would hear that.
-
The easter bunny starts them. He told me this Bear was killed around Binghamton NY. There is snow on the ground here so it must be true.

I'm getting tired of cutting up deer, glad its almost over. I had a small six point walk up to within 15 yrds of me today and I jumped out from behind the tree and yelled boooo. Little turd turned inside out getting away from me. Had a good laugh and went home.

Ended up getting the prowler XT and the 12v battery kit. ( thank you honey) I hooked it up to a tower fan in my living room and turned out all the lights in the house and had my daughter run around the house to test it out. Took 8 pics in about a min all of her ( and one of my dog chaceing her ) running around in front of it about 20 ft from it. Some were a little blurry but good enough for what I want it for.

Well atleast he didnt get shot in a cemetary and put to good use for food. A nother one for the landfill.

Still rolling the dice trying to get a 7s. I hunt land that boarders PA and can only say good things about AR. I use to just go to this property to shoot doe because the bucks were so punnie. But in the last 8 yrs or so there size and number has increased. My wifes cousins all taged out 1st day in PA with seven almost identical 8 points. They all passed on 2 or 3 bucks apiece before they shot there 8's. They all say the same thing they couldnt be happier. It was tough the 1st couple of yrs but has only gotten better.

Probably just swings it around like a club.

I hear that, my buck I shot this yr is terrible. He's so tough that even crock potting a roast all day doesnt improve it. Tough as nails. The only thing that was temder were the tender loins. Back straps are tough as nails to, even when left a little bloody. Looks like the rest of him, I havent turned into sausage, might get a trip to reliable to get turned into sausage links for the grill.
