    Curious

I went shed hunting with Red once if that counts.
  2. Actually, you're not too far off. Many of the top name brands water test their fixtures before they leave the factory. It's not uncommon to open up a brand new toilet or faucet and have it dripping with water. Believe it or not, there is some serious testing that goes on behind the scenes at the factories as well. A lot of that spills over into the sales reps pitch to sell the latest and greatest to suppliers. I'm sure everyone has seen the fully operational "cut away engines" before. They do the same thing with the chitters. You tube it, and prepare to see all your doubts go down the drain, lol
  3. I think I've worked for darn near every plumbing company in WNY over the 25 years or so. Some of the bigger places had enough room to stock warehouses full of their own fixtures, while the smaller guys bought a few at a time from a supply house, or job to job from the Depot. I've NEVER seen a difference after handling a gazillion different models no matter where they came from. A Price Phister, or American Standard, or Glacier Bay, is always gonna be a piece of crap no matter where you buy it and wont compare to a reputable brand in material, function, and construction. Can't blame the supply house (or box store) for quality on the manufacturers end.
  4. All the same. A Kohler, Delta, or Moen faucet from Home Depot is the same as the one from Irr Supply, LA Hazard, or Ellicott Bath and Kitchen. Same goes for the crappers.
  5. Who you kiddin'..... more like by my second round, lol
  6. I'm pretty sure any carcass trap sets need to be completely concealed from above to lessen the chance raptor or other birds will be attracted to them. I'm also pretty sure snares aren't legal in NY. From DEC site:
  7. Now she gets to make the real thing! Too bad she couldn't use some of those mad painting skills to touch up her face, lol
  8. I have a hard enough time all bundled up sitting on stand for more than an hour when temps dip below 30 degrees. I guess it would depend on how much meat the gal had on her bones. If you really got in a bind, a hefty chick could provide enough food, shelter, heat, AND water....., if you can find the wet spots!
  9. Damn dude- I'd never make it out to the woods to hunt if I could stay home and shoot them with the camera like that! Great pics!
  10. Pretty sure the only requirement is that those involved in the drive must all have valid hunting licences. Even "tagged out" hunters can participate in drives. You CAN NOT have your un-licenced wife and kids running around the woods pushing deer for you just as an example.
  11. I think you'll do alright trusting Pygmy with a scope sale. Trusting him to bring your daughter home on time would be an entirely different story. Damaged goods at that point if you know what I mean, lol
  12. February 29'th only happens on leap years, so it would be impossible to find an antler two years in a row on the 29'th. Hence it's a leap-horn!
  13. Got out for a couple hours this evening and scooped up my first ever "leap-horn". NO ONE in the history of shed hunting has ever accomplished this feat two years in a row, so they are kinda special, lol
  14. I've never had much luck saving turkey parts. Most got devoured by cats and mice when I kept them in the barn. Others got tossed or lost between moves and relationships. Fans and wings I'll save from year to year to dress up my dekes, but their life expectancy is short from being stuffed in a pack and left out in the elements throughout the season. I have a few old Mason jars and colored glass bottles I picked up on my hikes I fill with feathers. The only turkey parts I have around anymore are this one from 2 years ago that I turned into a wall hanger. Since then I ditched the call and striker and got his skull stuck to the lumber in it's place. That keeps all the turkey parts I care to keep conveniently in one place. When I score a bigger bird this spring I'll just swap out the parts and rotate these to the deke accessory bin.
  15. I can guarantee you I didn't do anything THAT much fun, but I did manage to get my boots muddy!
  16. Nice late season score! Pretty coat, congrats!
  17. Probably out looking for antlers and running from the law,lol Hope it's not a crappy one.., crappy! Happy B-day bud!
  18. No one I know has ever told an exciting story about putting the "stalk" on a stalk of celery, or an encounter that put a trophy "head" of lettuce on their wall. Your life is about to become a whole lot more interesting and exciting. .... first thing you'll need to learn how to do is the "backstrap boogey"! It's good exercise, lol You can still throw all that green leafy crap on top of your meat if you desire. This place will be a good starting point for your interest in hunting and fishing, so welcome aboard and good luck.
  19. If he had used a gun, it's just another boring picture of a dead bear and an exaggerated hunting story no one will ever believe to go along with it. I don't think that pic is authentic though..... there's no CRAP on the bears face from the photographer, lol
  20. Thought I'd pass this along in case any of you guys are looking for a cheapy cam. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Primos-63051-Easy-Cam-IR-LED-5MP-Game-or-Trail-Camera-Black/141856928687?hash=item210754f3af&_trkparms=5374%3AFeatured|5373%3A0
  21. Absolutely NOT! Where would I charge my e-ciggys...?
  22. Not yet stones. Hopefully we get a little warm up this weekend and I'm gonna give it a shot and see what I come up with. I just threw 2 hairless skins in a bucket the other day to re-hydrate the rawhide. If it turns out the way I have planned, that would be great. If it doesn't, then I guess the pooch will have a new chew toy.
  23. Thanks again everyone! She LOVED it Paula, but now she's expecting a chandelier next year, lol Two of her friends have already placed their orders for their husbands and boyfriends. I might have to start BUYING antlers soon at this rate!
