Good concept but I would worry about toxins and stagnent water as well. Deer don't have problems finding water in the northeast, they can sustain themselves for the most part from the moisture in the plants they eat. Good luck though

Do yourself a favor drop 2 pins, the reality is if you are asking this you should only be shooting 20-25 yards max but regardless with todays bows you should have no need for a 10 yard pin and you probably have no busineess shooting 50+ at anything so set your pins for 20, 30, and 40. Practice at 30 and that will make you very comfortable shooting 20. I have been bow hunting 20+ years and the percentage of 30+ yard shots I would have had a good oppertunity at taking are low, most bow encounters, if stands are placed correctly, will put deer in a 15-25 yards range. If you are trying to scout and hunt bucks 2.5 or older I highly recommend you resist the temptation of going more than every other week. Not every deer will be spooked by your presence but be sure you will impact the deers habits and potentially make them go nocturnal fast. You will bump deer, you will leave scent and there is now doubt that will impact your hunting. Cams are an awesome tool in the bag but you need to treat them like you are hunting, don't over pressure or be careless about scent etc. Most guys are jealous of the guys getting pics of big bucks, if your not getting pics of big mature deer it doesn't mean they aren't there it most likely means they have you figured out and they know how to avoid situations they are skeptical about. I have seen it first hand multiple times where a mature doe approaching a cam location stops 50 yards out stares in the direction and makes a big loop to avoid the cam location so if she does that think of what a smart old buck will do. If it is a cam in your backyard or not a hunting spot I would say once a week won't hurt a thing.

The difference between Culverts buck and that buck is about 4-5" of spread and probably 8"+ of main beam. Not trying to get inot a Pi$$ing contest on this becuase it is a great buck but helping guys field judge bucks is a major part in QDM. The Velvett 10pt will go mid to upper 130's maybe low 140's but maybe the G-man can clear this all up come october 15th

If you aren't putting your Cam's in areas where deer are use to human activity and your are checking them more than every other week or so you are most likely ruining your chances at a mature deer, doe's and young bucks might be forgiving but the mature bucks will key in on your activities. Trail camming is fun but needs to be treated just like hunting your favorite stand or you risk ruining your chances at your trophy of a lifetime especially once bucks change from summer to fall patterns they are alot less forgiving. I have seen reaction to cam's by mature doe's and bucks from recon stands and they will walk quite a ways around a spot to avoid a cam it's pretty wild to see

No doubt a very cool buck but def needs at least one more year to really see what his awesome potential nad genetics will do, even with the drops as a 2yr old he is under 100" would be a shame for a buck like him to not make it one more year but I'm sure the handlebars will be his doom to a brush beater. I'm not sure that is the same buck from last season to me he doens't look like he added alot of inches and he really doesn't appear to have put on much body size both deer look to be 3yr olds to me but both have good looking genetics either way it will be a win win if you get to see them through the peep. I would put the velvet 10 in around 135-40ish, a 150 inch buck as you know tends to look really big in velvet I'm not sure he is quite there but maybe and there is only one way to find out for sure!

The last pic is really cool! Good luck bud hopefully it pays off and he sticks around for you, I bet there are older ones in the mix he looks to be 3ish if you are managing the ground I'm sure they are there he has good looking genetics

First I would go with Mr. Perfect he is very perfecto looking. 2nd just because you got a couple cam pics there doesn't mean you will see him there come hunting he could be anywhere around the farm maybe not even there when he goes hard horned typically the big ones have a completely different pattern when the bone gets polished so I wouldn't be to concerned if he wanted to steal the spot just set up in the general area and when he roams by you instead you will get to rub it in!

Don't assume they are shot I have a couple decent chunks of ground I manage and haven't been seeing to much this summer but I know they are there last night I took a .5 mile hike to a secluded field and laid eyes on a buck I think I have been after for 5 years now, I have 2 cams in the area but he has avoided all of them. A couple bucks I have sheds and pics from never show during the seasons you would think they were there but come post season or spring bam the evidence is there they just get smart after 4yrs. Even heavily pressured ground will sustain mature deer because they are much smarter than the nitwhits chasing them. ;D
