  1. You are right there with Cabin in the perseverance category Jay. Good luck.
  2. Do I cover ground or sit in the thick and nasty and hope to pick the right escape route? Considering I have never shot an opening day buck other than a little guy early on, I have not chosen right yet! With less hunters pushing deer, I am not sure that the escape route is best, but maybe it is. Your plans?
  3. I would LOVE to have that pic at my place. I still want to kill a bear.
  4. No expert either but that is no baby
  5. Bob You win hunter of the year in my opinion whether you kill one or not. You are the picture of perseverance. I couldn't have sat 1/2 of the time you did. I hope it pays off. Not to mention letting that beautiful piebald walk when you haven't seen squat!
  6. First year I didn’t shoot a bow buck in years BUT I spent very little time in the stand. I did have encounters with 2 great bucks and didn’t close the deal. So I really can’t complain. In fact, having lost one property, I was very happy to see the potential at my place.
  7. You need one that swivels to watch a different direction. Good news is that it is that time of year that even matures do stupid stuff like not pay as much attention to scent.
  8. Seems like you have many more active bucks than in prior years. Very encouraging.
  9. Being honest Bob, I haven’t hunted my property nearly enough over the years. I always knew it had big bucks but after losing my other property and loading up on cams at my place, I really realize what I was missing. Just a tough year for seat time but it’s makes me feel really confident that I will have solid opportunities, maybe even better than the property I focused most of my time on the last 9 years. The adjacent property also is limiting hunters as it was leased out so that is good news for me. You are putting your time in and I have no doubt it will pay off!
  10. Season 10 for me. Just a youngster.
  11. Great job Paul. I am dying to get a better pic of this guy. Not sure when I can get out next but cool that he is running around.
  12. The bucks are safe today. Got called out of woods. Not my year. Good luck all.
  13. Rushed out the door and grabbed 3 bananas for my all day sit. They have the same effect hunting as on boats?
  14. Took some convincing this morning but in for rest of day. And lane to scrape opened.
  15. If one hunts an area with a decent population, its likely that they will spook deer on entry - I would say it happens more often than not to me on morning hunts. Maybe I just suck but I still see the occasional deer.
  16. Hate missing today but I have to work. I know they are seeking. Good luck brothers and sisters!
  17. Aren’t you an English teacher or perhaps “except” during hunting season. Kidding you Bro. I will be back at it as soon as time permits this week. Still time to get it done. I just hate blowing opportunities Only so many come along
