  1. Was looking for a large insulated water jug to bring out when I work at the properties or fishing in the summer. Settled on this 64oz bottle made by The Coldest Water. Haven’t had it out yet but did test it by filling with ice and then water. Left it out at my house. 24hrs later I opened it and still plenty of ice. 36 hours still some ice. And at 40hrs still some ice. Going to check at 48hrs. Probably wouldn’t do as well in 95 degree heat but this seems like a high quality insulated jug. No leaking or sweating. Should work really well for keeping water ice cold during Day trips in the heat. Just an FYI if anyone is in the market.
  2. Well shoot Taco, you already knew your answer
  3. Assuming it’s not form taco, here are my suggestions. 1. Confirm CS is set at 7/8”. 2. Confirm shims on cams are set so that thinner shim is on right/cable side of Cam. If not, flip the shims. Moving cams in same direction as tear will help straighten the tear. 3. I think 340 with 125 should be good but you may want to try 400 spine if you have them. Adjusting shims will make the most dramatic difference but requires a press. I confirmed this with Breathn who many many people pay plenty to tune their bows. He knows his stuff. When I am stuck, I ask him.
  4. Taco 2 questions: 1. What is the current measurement of your rest centershot? 2. As currently set, do the arrow, string and pins all line up when viewed from behind? could be bow torque based on grip position. Might be worth eliminating that possibility by letting someone else try a shot or 2 through paper and see how it looks.
  5. Treeguy is running charters the day of. Only $650 for a full day. Who is in?
  6. By the way, if you do spot rust early, hit it with POR15. It chemically bonds and is supposed to stop the spread. I used it for motorcycle parts too as it is as durable as powder coating in my experience. Crazy strong stuff but don't get it on your hands or you will be wearing it for several weeks.
  7. x2. I pay $17/month to wash all I want at delta sonic. Its worth it around here. My truck is now 5-6 years old and no rust on body at all.
  8. Charter boat captain did a good job this morning. 10 for 15-16 in about 3.5 hours. I didn't reel any in but one 12lb king since it was my 3 co-workers first time out ever. Had a couple of good hook ups with kings but the guys lost the two best. Mostly smaller kings in 10-14lb range with one decent 13lb laker. Hammerhead charters. I would recommend them.
  9. Stuff with old rags and plastic bags. Cover with chicken wire and then burlap. Great archery targets.
  10. Supporting a tourney for Boy Scouts. None of the others going are fishermen (or outdoor enthusiasts in the least) so I am hoping we get on a few screamers. Should be interesting to watch. Lol. Fish from 6:30 to 11. I may actually get a few cups of coffee in. You ever heard of hammerhead charters. That is our boat. Capt piano. 33’ tiara. Looks nice.
  11. You saw 3 more bear than I did and I actually hunted for them. Lol. Sounds like a great trip.
  12. Doing a charter tomorrow since we needed to fill a boat for a charitable event. Will be nice to sit back and do nothing but reel em in.
  13. That is neat. Taller than 6’? Eye level or higher would be cool.
  14. No idea. I was too young when he passed. I think it went to his brothers kids. He was my uncle by marriage (married my gramps sister) so I really don’t know his side of the family well. I recall he had shotguns and a Nickel plated 38 snub nose with pearl grips that he threatened to shoot in the air on New Years every year until my aunt nixed the idea. He like to have a few cocktails. Haha
  15. Thx. If Uncle Sam knew his photos would be on the internet 70yrs later, I assume he would have take a long arm trophy photo! Hehe
  16. Pretty sure no one was stressing about killing a wall hanger.
  17. Lol. I was kinda digging the wide pants and high boots. I think Uncle Sam and my gramps combined weighed about 100lbs less than me.
  18. The only hunter in my family before me was my great Uncle Sam. Passed away quite a few years ago but a recall him as a young boy. He was a hoot. Always the life of the family parties. Hunted the ADK. The first pic is him in the middle. The second pic are some ADK bucks he and his brothers killed with my father sitting on the buck and grandfather next to him. Looks like it was behind the old family home on Akinson St in Rochester. Anyone know the car? Just came across them. Kinda cool. Thought I would share.
  19. Mandatory retirement at 85 at his place of employment. Still a year to go.
  20. Stop with the old jokes. The man looks great for turning 84 years old.
