Yep sorry for not comIng also. What I thought was an eye infection was diagnosed as shingles on Friday and still thought I would make it but my scalp felt like it was on fire and my head going to explode by yesterday afternoon. Worst headache I have ever had. Strange virus and one that I recommend everyone over 40 get the new vaccination. I thought shilngles only effected people older than me. It ain’t fun. Anyways sounds like I missed a good time. Sorry to hear if your troubles Law.

Ladder stands , are they secure?
moog5050 replied to Northcountryman's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Most of our ladders are the cheapos and they work fine with one strap behind the seat and one on the stabilizer. After a couple of seasons, we add another strap behind seat rather than replacing. That’s it and they hold my big butt. -
We have one tree that is a single trunk and worse it’s side hill where Deer travel both high and low. Sometimes they are almost level with the stand only 20 yds away. Yet we kill a good buck from it most seasons. It’s in the right spot. Being still and choosing the right time to move helps a lot even when skylined. And I suspect I look like a very big blob sitting it.

Agreed. That’s the problem sometimes with climbers. Need a straight tree to use but it might not be optimal spot.
-
You need to be close enough for a shot. Go high on the solo tree or think about trying to add your own back cover - screw branches to trunk. I would not sit in the wrong spot even if it has better cover.

Might only be for team members. Why would you want to handicap yourself wearing anything associated with the Bills? You have done darn well without it. Maybe its the challenge!
-
Darn dogs. Such a pain at times, but you can't help but love them. Enjoy!

WI also has tons of high deer density public lands unlike NY

From what I have seen on huntingbeast which is mostly WI hunters, they do very well there.

I am going to take a wild guess at 100-150lbs of 15-15-15 per acre. This is one of the many times I am offering an ill informed opinion. More curious to see how close I come to the experts.

Didn't realize it was a dead head. Gotcha.
-
definitely some great mass. Almost look bleached.
-
Not sure if you mean sitting the ground but when I hunted with Treeguy last year, we generally set up with a chair and tripod. He may have stood on a set but mostly chair with tripod. You hunt them during deer season too?
-
Looks horrible. And you call yourself an artist. You ought to be ashamed. How does one go about ordering such a monstrosity? lol Pretty cool Matt. You got SKILLZ!

I will be presenting a brief seminar on how to almost knock down a blind while turkey hunting without killing pygmy in the process. Since Dan won't be there, I will be blaming him for this incident. A tale of caution!

I have had great success with the rage hypo. Huge holes. Never an issue on not performing properly. I do check the head when nocking the arrow to may sure its tight in the shock collar and I shoot 82lbs when hunting with the compound for whatever that is worth.
-
Yep. Use it on feathers and it works well.
-
What did you catch them on Chris? Egg sacks? Nice job.

Can't speak for seams by campdry is good stuff.
-
I am sure you are right. I just can't leave that gold nugget!
-
Plot looks awesome. Way to involve the kiddos too!

On the subject of neck meat, it is one of my favorites. Crock pot it for 8 hours and it makes one of the most delicious and tender stews ever. Back to your regularly scheduled program.

The one time I tried a mock scrape, I put a camera on it after peeing in it and the only thing to show up was a series of bikini models.

I assume you are using a GPS?
