Can’t buy a bite today. I think cold water was pushed out deep. Trolled from 80-290 with very few marks and almost all marks were 120 or deeper. Funny thing is there are a lot of boats washing lures with us Lost our probe 2 weeks ago so fishing blind on temps. Good news is sept is coming and the kings will be staging soon. That’s fishing sometimes.

I buy my fishing when I buy my hunting but my fishing always runs from 10/1-9/30. They can sell you the new fishing with the start date of when your old one expires. Heading out for the high seas in a few minutes to bag a screamer or 2.

Seriously?

Honestly yokes are easier to tune. Just takes a little tinkering to figure it out.

They had a special for only $500. How could I pass that up. And it’s spelled Finnigan rods I believe.

Thank God I removed the center skid plate before dropping it off or it would have been a 10hr job.
-
I am sure they do to. It’s filers. Plenty big.

It was only $50 but just tells me something about them. I must have had my “never did any mechanical work in my life” suit on. I did pay for them to balance the radiator though. That seemed reasonable. Lol

It’s just easier to work on the underside. I just winch the front up when I want to get under there. Since they have to drill out the old threads and retap for the time sert it is easier if it’s standing up. It’s just comical that they make it sound like it’s time consuming. I did it in a few minutes when I installed heavier skid plates.

Phade did that for my kids with some sheds. They would head in the wrong direction and we would steer them back. It was funny.

So as I was performing my first full fluid change on the ATV I cross threaded the oil drain plug. Considering it’s only accessible through a hole in the frame which can’t be reached by hand and it’s simply a tapped hole in the aluminum case (genius) it was a stupid but upon researching very common mistake. Fixed it with a no leak plug but wanted to do it right. The proper method is the installation of a time sert - which is what the factory should do as it’s a permanent installation of steel threads. After watching it done in 20min on a few YouTube videos, I figured it would be a piece of cake but the whole installation kit ran $212. So I call the dealer. They have the kit and have used it many times not surpringly. How much? $150 for labor (1.5hrs) plus the oil. Think about it for a while and decided I would never use the kit again since it’s size specific. In this case 18mmx1.50. So I say screw it and call the dealer again. Same quote and I schedule an appt. Drop it off yesterday and it was supposed to be done by noon. Call at 2:15 and the tech hadn’t started but was getting to it soon. Return call at 3:30 and it’s done. I get there and am told $249. For what, I was quoted $150. Oh but it took 2 hours. I start laughing and explain that I watched several YouTube videos and it takes about 20-30min if you move slow. I still agreed to pay for 1.5hrs knowing it doesn’t take near that long. But I don’t expect to be charged more time than quoted. The guy goes on to try to explain that since the ATV has to be pushed on its rear front wheels up, it took 2hrs - yes literally to tip it up. I told them I could do that in 2 min in my garage. Happy to show them to save the rest of the customers an hour in labor. I even mentioned the timing of the calls that proves it took less than 1.5hrs - all the while finding the squirming of the service manager very amusing. Explained that I bought an expensive ATV from them and am happy to pay a fair charge for service but I expect to be treated honestly. They agreed to reduce it $150 as quoted. Wonder how many just pay the $249 and accept that tipping the bike up took extra unanticipated time. Lol. They don’t call it a stealership for nothing. Oh and you get way overcharged for the oil too. Good news, unless I use an impact gun, I won’t be screwing the drain hole up any more.

No yokes on that bow.

I have a chandelier made of fake (but good replica) antlers in the room with most of my mounts. I added a few real ones too. It looks nice.

What's the coldest temperature you can remember hunting in
moog5050 replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
I don't ever remember going out in any cold where it seemed crazy. -30 would seem crazy to me so it must have been warmer than that. -
If I was just guessing from a quick look, I would have put his at 140-145 but your numbers make sense.

Honestly Rob, having spent a fair amount of time in true third world communities, I probably have more sympathy than many for the families trying to enter illegally. There is such poverty and lack of a chance to get out of that life that I truly feel for these people that are just looking for a better life for their families. I see those circumstances in my wife's own family. But I digress. That said, again, I believe they must follow the law like anyone else. But I do not agree with the concept of taking kids away from parents during the deportation process when the only crime is entering illegally. Without a doubt, we can show some humanity by returning the entire family intact. Its beyond silly to have a situation where parents and kids lose track of each other because they are being deported. It can and should be done as a single unit. I don't think this is the same situation as one where an individual commits a crime that will result in individual jail time and the family has no choice but to be split up so the one can serve his time. Here the remedy is deportation. I would keep the family together while being deported. And I a generally vote Republican and conservative. Even Trump eventually figured out that splitting families was a bad idea. You may disagree and I respect that. My father and I had this same discussion.

Problem is that farms won't survive without illegals. They can't afford to pay minimum wage or at least to find sufficient workers at that price. We had a similar issue here with an illegal that killed his girlfriend. Migrant workers on the apple farms. My wife is an immigrant and now naturalized but she went through the full legal process to get there and it ain't easy. I support enforcement of our immigration laws and welcome those immigrants willing to do it legally. I think its a bit of an overly broad statement to suggest that illegals are committing crimes at a greater rate than our citizens, but I could be proven wrong. I just don't know the statistics.

Does it also have peddles? Seems like an easy out. Just sayin.

My deepest condolences. It so great that you have such fond memories that hopefully will put a smile on your face despite a difficult loss. Celebrate his life. Sounds like a great dad.

I don't even shoot my compound and am tempted for $100 but alas I already have one. Chris is will sell in a heartbeat on AT for that.

Local manhunt - What do you defend your home with?
moog5050 replied to Jdubs's topic in General Chit Chat
You are not the only one. Why increase the risk of confrontation for some practice that can take place the next day. And if I was going to do that, I think I would have a few ARs/shotguns sitting out in the open for everyone, including the potential intruder, to see! -
I forgot. Do you measure 3 or 4 spots for mass?

Lithium grease is what I have used on car door hinges. Would have used it on the garage door but only had wd40. Still works for now.
