  1. Yes - by adding archery and ML, you get two tags which can be used in either season. One is either/or and the other is antlerless.
  2. All I can say is that I am JEALOUS - hunt of a lifetime there. Best of luck. New Mexico has some big elk. If its guided, I would ask the guide about the likelihood of altitude sickness, but I think you will be fine at 9500.
  3. This makes sense if you don't get a guaranteed 4 DMPs. Here they are readily available. I have only filled all seven tags once in a season and later decided it was too much. I guess I was a bit blood thirsty that season. Have stuck to no more than 5 since and may even cut back a bit more. Then again, we do have the contest pending. lol

    New bow

Different but they still do the same exact thing! Kill a deer with that Tamerlane Jmark - it would be cool.
  5. I have some scentblocker stuff. Honestly I could care less about its odor blocking abilities. Its just good quality hunting gear. The Sherpa vest is one of my favorites. Perfect with a long sleeve t shirt for those 50 degree days and great under layer when it gets really cold.
  6. Bow and ML you will get an either/or and an antlerless tag (2 deer). These can be used anytime in either season. Then you have regular antlered tag (which also can be used in ML if not used in regular season). Then you have DMPs which can be used in any season. I will typically use a DMP or 2 in bow since they are WMU specific and save the antlerless bow/ML tag in the event I hunt outside of 8H. Then I use the antlerless tag outside of 8H or in ML if I still have it. The other 2 DMPs are available for regular season or ML. That said, I always get 4 DMPs which means a total of 7 tags without any consignments.
  7. Must be a purebred as it isn't overdone with condiments. Mustard only for the discerning palate.
  8. I have one of those and they are tougher to aim on.
  9. I really haven't thought that far ahead. Now having sufficient equipment to plant on my own, I figured I would decide as the years go. My first thought with brassicas and clover was simply to maintain the nitrogen levels. This little plot has really good rich soil so I am lucky in that regard. Would love to add some dunstan chestnuts this spring around the edges of the plot.
  10. Urea is pretty hard to find around here. I was just planning to top off with some 15-15-15 since I can't really find 46-0-0.
  11. I figured I would hit it with the drag in spring and add more clover seed. I figure most will be shaded out by the brassicas. Maybe not in the empty spots. My seeding does not appear to be the most uniform. lol But hoping the clover will return the nitrogen used by the brassicas.
  12. They came with ITP terracross. I like them so far.
  13. Quick update after 15hrs on this can am. It is an absolute beast. After getting over the fact that I would scratch and abuse this expensive new toy, I really put it through its paces. From swamp driving after the heavy rains to tight wood driving and steeeeep hills. It handled everything easily. I was amazed at how well it did in the heavy muck. The power steering means even my 9yr daughter can pilot it. And I am enjoying “work days” so much more. No buyers remorse here.
  14. So we have confirmed Larry only shoots lazy deer. Me too. The size of the properties I hunt means that most of the Deer I have killed are only a few hundred yards or less from a road. But I suspect public land might require a different strategy.
  15. He will get you on them in Sept. 5-6 footers is not comfortable even in a bigger boat. I can live with 4 footers but don’t really enjoy it. You will probably be glad if he gets you on Kings in calmer water. We were pushing my fathers comfort level today with heavy 1-3 or light 2-4 footers.
  16. It’s mixed in with brassicas. Didn’t plan on it. Thoughts.
  17. First time out this year. Late start and bam first fish was a ripping king and I mean ripping. Took a ton of line. 23lber in early August is fun.
  18. You got plenty of years to go buddy and I have a blind ready for you too!
  19. Don’t forget a trip up this way. Raghorns are my specialty.
