  1. Yep. The pulley was about a foot lower last year and my bucks' noses were dragging. This would have helped. I just cut em off high on the neck after caping when they are getting mounted anyways.
  2. The growths on these deer are cutaneous fibromas and are caused by a papilloma virus. Cutaneous fibromas are hairless tumors that can be found on any part of the skin, however they rarely extend below the hide. Fibromas are also called warts, tumors, papillomas and fibrosarcomas, and they occur everywhere deer live. Quoted from another site when I search for deer with tumors. Look the same.
  3. Now you are just trying to make me paranoid. I would love to see one of those critters climb into a hole in the middle of a 10' ceiling in my garage. Lol
  4. I am a good weather calm seas fisherman. Don't like rain or cannon balls bouncing all over. Haha.
  5. Our boat is finally in and we have 5-7 foot waves with peak waves reaching 13ft. I will be setting some new stands instead of fishing tomorrow. Lol Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots. Showers and thunderstorms through the early overnight... then showers likely late. Some thunderstorms may be severe with strong winds and large hail early. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 2 to 4 feet. Saturday Southwest winds 15 to 25 knots becoming west. A chance of showers. A chance of waterspouts in the afternoon. Waves 3 to 6 feet building to 5 to 8 feet. Waves occasionally around 10 feet. Saturday Night West winds to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to 25 knots. A chance of waterspouts. A chance of showers. Waves 6 to 10 feet subsiding to 5 to 8 feet. Waves occasionally around 13 feet. Sunday West winds 5 to 15 knots. A chance of waterspouts in the morning. A chance of showers in the morning. Waves 3 to 6 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet. Waves occasionally around 7 feet.
  6. They are cool and work. I was just suggesting that you don't really want to be worrying about adjusting the site year one when a deer comes in. Keep it simple and keep shots inside of 25. Less to think about but then again you are pro staff already. Never mind. Lol
  7. My wife was less than thrilled. Lol. I might put some screen up there. Now you have me thinking about wasp nests.
  8. That bow should be fine sighting it at 20 and leaving it unless you plan to shoot past 25, which might not be a great idea first year out. A lost deer will leave a bad taste in your mouth. I have kept all of my shots with the recurve at 27yds and shorter. No problem killing deer in that range. Set it and forget it year one. When you head west, then play with longer ranges. Just a suggestion.
  9. Good job Biz. Did you set up a 10yd pin? Set one at 20 and you will be in the kill zone with the same point of aim from 0-25yds. It will cause you to be a bit high at 10yds but nothing to worry about.
  10. Don't you have roof vents? Moisture doesn't concern me. Ventilation in an attic is a good thing. Reason for baffles. Bugs not too much either but perhaps attaching some mesh or screen is a good idea
  11. You likely need a permit from DEC. I would start there.
  12. Great shooting from 60. Haven't shot more than 6 arrows from the compound this year but I wouldn't mind some long shots like that!
  13. Most of the time we don't put plots in but when we do, it's not to hunt over the plot. Honestly the best year I had hunting, we put 0 plots in. My buddy put a bean plot in this year but it's middle of a field so not really to hunt over (at least with bow) and not growing anyways. Lol
  14. Our best food plots are the beans and corn planted every year on the property next door.
  15. I shoot an arrow or 2 at 20yds when I let the dog out first thing in the morning. If I am going to shoot a bad one, it's going to happen most likely when I am stiff and crusty eyed. Lol. Did ok today. Slightly low but I will take it.
  16. Well I finally installed the 1320lb rated hoist. 660lb if not doubled but that is plenty even for buckzilla. Bolted it to a 2x12 that spans 6 trusses. Hoisted me up easy enough so it should be good. Might cut some type of cover to enclose the hole. Needed about 18"x18" to maneuver the 2x12 with hoist into place. Should be much more convenient than the hand winch.
  17. I assume you are more pro than staff Biz. Heck you have almost owned a bow for a week. And with a Matthews, well ..... lol
  18. He has lived a scant 1587 days on this earth by my scientifically proven estimation. Let him walk ..... or run ......... my way.
  19. I think I posted a photo of one last year eating a duck at our dock. It was the size of a manhole cover. Pretty cool for sure. Made me think twice about swimming in the bay again. Great photos as always!
  20. I would be sleeping with the fishes (caught on Senkos I bet).
