  1. Traditional or compound? Honestly, with a compound, I can shoot bare shafts nearly as well as fletched. Much harder for me with a recurve, and even more so with a broad head. I will accept all the fletching foregiveness I can get and wet feathers don't help.
  2. Can't argue with your experience TC. Rage recommends a minimum of 55lbs for the hypo. If I was shooting that weight, I personally would stick with a slick trick or similar coc head.
  3. I shoot 80lbs but think 70 is fine. Personally, i would avoid mechanicals at 60lbs or lower.
  4. Or missed a lot without mentioning it.
  5. Plus, Howard Hill would be jealous of my range. LOL
  6. I don't know Law. My experience is that when feathers get wet, they lay down and don't serve as fletching well. The camp dry definitely prevents that.
  7. Actually, I have seen those tests in BH magazine but your own testing should be sufficient.
  8. Due to the expected rain this weekend, I treated my feathers with 2 light coats of camp dry yesterday. Today I ran them under the faucet. The feathers maintained their shape with no water absorbed. Those that shoot feathers know that much less water will quickly make them almost useless as fletching. I was very impressed. It does have a subtle chemical smell so hopefully that wears off. Good stuff though.
  9. For those interested, I closely compared the two tonight. I shoot 125g and the rage were dead on. The knock offs were 120g. Nothing critical. When deployed, the rage have a 2.125" cut while the KO had 2.35". Sharpness felt about the same. When locked open, the rage blade has an edge that runs perpendicular to the shaft - a T so to speak. The KO have a slight arch upward. Seems to me that the T is a more rigid stronger design but I am no engineer. Cost isn't even close. About $13/head vs $1.25/head. If I use the compound at all this season, I wouldn't hesitate to give the KO a try but if cost is not a consideration, I give the edge to the rage due to the T design. Also, if you are shooting a heavy bow like me, the extra cutting length won't matter but if you shoot a bow where penetration may be a question, the original rage may be the better choice. All for for what it's worth.
  10. Can you please provide coordinates. I love toffee apples.
  11. Its a good thing I am charitable Phade. I will refrain from further comment. lol And those were darn good steak and eggs!
  12. I am a wimp and like cold crisp sunny days vs. rain. That said, I just sprayed my feathers with camp dry yesterday for this weekend. I will be out there unless its a monsoon.
  13. This sounds interesting. I will have to look into it. How long will it last when canned? Note, I have never canned anything. That skill passed with my great aunts.
  14. Looking a bit closer, he is a 10pt main frame with an extra point on G2. And a huge spread with long main beams and good tines. Only downside on score are short brows. My initial guess is probably a bit high, but I would be surprised if he isn't at least 145 and maybe 150. Put him down and we will know for sure.
  15. My guess, big ole bruiser! Good luck. To be more precise 5plus and 155-160. I can't score my way out of a paper bag though. He is a great buck, of that I am certain .
  16. Way more than I want to know about a goat or speculate about a buck. Lol
  17. I think that's only ebay and before a seller has enough transactions. Direct paypal releases immediately.
  18. I don't believe they will move out for good or any real length of time. They will bed on the small islands in the marsh and will return even though you bumped them. No worries. Find the lightly used trails just downwind of the marsh in the transition (change of vegetation) area. The bucks will likely use those trails to scent check the does. Set up just downwind of those trails. Again, just my opinion.
  19. beats the 165fps I am shooting by a wide margin.
  20. My grinder has an auger than pushes the meat though holes in a flat plate. Just want to be sure I am not missing something, does one sharpen that plate or the edges of the holes in the plate? Mine seems to work just fine, but maybe I am failing to do some require maintenance. or maybe, our grinders are of a different design. LOL - just remembered that there is a "knife" between the auger and plate. Shows how long its been since I used it. Never mind. Make sense to sharpen that knife.
  21. They will leave major blood trails and pieces of organs falling out. Seriously.
  22. Stone, Just my experience and not arguing with Chef, but IMO the hypos work great. You do have to be sure that the shock collars are tight over the tab (not sure what else to call it) on the blade AND that they are rotated properly so that the tab is not sitting in one of the precut lines on the collar. Take your time when you put them on the arrow and they shouldn't open prematurely or at least I never have had that happen.
