  1. Yep - we just cancelled our annual client event for march madness that has hundreds of attendees every year.
  2. Interestingly, my firm is canceling large client events now and banning all non-essential travel even among attorneys in our various offices. They are also discouraging attendance at large gatherings unless absolutely essential. Overkill? Maybe, but I guess it is what it is.
  3. Ah yes, the black magic of tuning. Most will say to check poi before arrow orientation as you indicate. How far were you shooting? I find it pretty easy to assess spine at 20yds plus with trad bows and bareshafts. Often I just start with bareshafts until I see them flying straight and true at 20yds and then add some fletched to confirm POI is the same. It usually is at that point.
  4. Unless you were shooting at an angle those arrows look stiff, no?
  5. Components run from Yugo to Ferrari. Trigger and barrel are where I would consider higher budget pieces. PSA, bear creek arsenal for budget parts. Larue for reasonable but very nice trigger. White oak armament and rainier ultramatch for barrels. Just some suggestions but those barrels will not likely keep you under $500 for a build.
  6. One of the best kept secrets nationally in the whitetail hunting community - you just don't want all the former out of state-ers that hunt IA or KS to show up. I am on to your little secret down there.
  7. It was a 9.6, sure some splash but very little. I nearly won the championship.
  8. Where there is a monster buck behind EVERY tree - steuben co.
  9. There is a place near us that is a gas station and also only sells seafood, frozen and live, including live lobster, clams and crab. A strange combo to say the least. But I have bought clams, lobster and crab there and it was good.
  10. I always buy mlok. Never tried the keymod but mlok is solid.
  11. Go to QD releases and 2 pt tactical sling and you will never go back to a standard sling. So much more convenient. They have mlok QD mounts.
  12. Yep and darts. Came with a dart board and not very accurate.
  13. I agree Biz. Sunday sauce with 3 types of meat and cheese raviolis are my favorite along with lasagna. But I turned my diet over to my son and have lost 7lbs first two weeks. I really need to drop some pounds so no pasta for the most part. I do get one cheat meal every weekend so who knows when pasta will be on the menu but it won't be a regular occurrence.
  14. Mostly because I am on a low carb diet. Not that I engage in insider trading, but I will PM you when I fall off the wagon.
  15. wait, did you shoot the fox at 120yds with this pistol at age 10?
  16. Budget - bear creek arsenal. I would not skimp on trigger and barrel. The rest can be budget! this lower is cool: https://andersonmanufacturing.com/receiver-lower-am-15-open-semi-auto-multi-cal-ghost-anodized-black-american-flagd2-k067-ag03.html
  17. Wylde is supposed to remain accurate despite pressure differences between 223 and 556. My 223 is a Wylde and very accurate with 223 hunting ammo but if I had to choose between 223 and 556, 223 it would be. For what it’s worth I also read that even shooting 556 in a 223 is highly unlikely to have any ill effects but still not recommended. One test showed that among 2 556 barrels and 1 223 barrel, the 223 barrel fell in the middle for pressure when shooting the same 556 ammo. In other words, it made no difference.
  18. I think you will be fine. I may do the same.
  19. Most hunting ammo is 223. But lots of cheap 556 for plinking. I would not stress about shooting 556. I never do. But Wylde is optimal.
  20. Good quality parts in that build. GLWS!
  21. Something I should have mentioned in post 1. In addition to confirming the required length of gas tube per barrel specs and whether it’s included with barrel purchase, you also need to confirm that the inner diameter of the gas block matches the outside diameter of barrel where gas block mounts. Like the tube, the gas block may be included with the barrel (white oak does) but most don’t. But all barrels and gas blocks advertise the ID and OD measurements. You can also consider an adjustable gas block that can allow for different gas pressure but it’s really only needed if tuning a light weight bolt carrier group which theoretically reduces felt recoil. Honestly for a 22 cal build recoil is not a consideration for me and a standard gas block is just fine. and when ordering a hand guard, be sure the ID of the guard is bigger than the OD of the gas block if the guard is long enough to cover the block. You will realize quick when mocking up the assembly if you messed up here. Don’t ask how I know.
