Successful in NY? That's saying something...
Guns&ReligionCop replied to phade's topic in Deer Hunting
The problem with QDMA is they don't emphasize twhat you are saying enough. All most people see are people like Larry Weishunn stumbling around clumsly setting up a tripod to shoot a Monster buck eatting over bait with 4 or 5 other incredible deer right there and ramble on and on about mangement. Everyone knows hunting in NY,NJ,or PA is nothing like that and find it either or hard to relate or dismiss it as complete BS. -

See you are practicing management. It's just not the same for everyone. -

What people forget is things are always different from state to state but that doesn't mean deer management isn't a good thing it just means it also will vary. I don't remember who it was that said you don't hunt the biggest deer you hunt the biggest deer in your area. -
I was think basset hounds should be named Hank and labs Charlie, My dogs name is DOZER!!!

Which small game arrowhead?
Guns&ReligionCop replied to nycredneck's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I think it depends on the bow (Recurve, longbow, compound) My compound is to fast to shoot at small critters and I lose arrows. So I use a recurve instead! -
There use to be an indoor range on 110 in farmigdale that I use to use. It wasn't fancy but it did the trick

New carry piece
Guns&ReligionCop replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
If its anything like my P229 it doesnt matter if there is a round in the chamber because the hammer isn't completely down unless the triggers completely depressed. a built it safety feature so could actually pull your hammer back and drop it and your gun wont go off un less the triggers depressed fully -

Nice rebuttal to Steves comment. Just like usual his arguments are based on his opinion and hold no validity. -
gun law question??
Guns&ReligionCop replied to boo711's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Unfornately so many guns that are not assault weapons fall into this broad catagory that they are painting. -

Glad to see people standing up for this injustice! -
How many ruger 10-22's having you seen with a mag of less than 10 rounds? How many semi-auto handguns that aren't saturday night specials hold 7 or less? not many. This assault weapons ban is written in away to ban most legal hunting sporting implements. Your 3 round bolt action deer rifle witha flash hider and detachable mag is considered an assault rifle, your turkey shotgun with the telescoping stocjk and pistol grip is an assault rifle, your 10-22 squirrel gun now is also an assualt rifle not to mention you old 1911 with a 8 round mag that you carry with you in the woods just in case!!!

Feeding Deer not for Hunting
Guns&ReligionCop replied to Guns&ReligionCop's topic in General Hunting
Well I did build a new bird feeder for a bad weather day project with i'll post the pics later. NO BIRD FEED HIT THE DECK though, -
I don't do winter scouting, I do winter exploring. Its amazing things that you can find with no leaves and a little snow on the ground.

Feeding Deer not for Hunting
Guns&ReligionCop replied to Guns&ReligionCop's topic in General Hunting
Thank you to the few that actually gave an answer to the question and didn't go on about what the law states I'll see you in jail etc... For of those you who can actually comprehend what they read they will see that this was a question of how the deer would act and that no action was actually being taken just curious what peoples opinions on the matter are. The other day 2 doe actually came up on my deck and went over to my wifes covered up plants, uncovered them and ate her flowers. When I pulled in the driveway after work they wouldn't even bother getting off the deck and looked at me like I was a inconvience to them while trying to get in my house. Next time for you that lack all comprehension skill I will start it off by saying HYPOTHECIAL ONLY because of the "I know you can't feed deer in NY" "THIS NOT ATTEMPT TO POACH!!!!" Comments were not even for you to figure this out on your own. As for the bird feeder mine was destroyed by the squirrels! and dear Paula if you want to call the Putnam Sheriff I'll give you a hand the Deputy covering my neighborhood tonights name is Pete he knows exactly where to go -
Feeding Deer not for Hunting
Guns&ReligionCop replied to Guns&ReligionCop's topic in General Hunting
Yes I understand the rules hence stating so but this has nothing to do with the rules if you read this again. I was looking into detracting deer not attracting. I don't know if it has been because of the last couple of snow falls or has it been a tough season but they have been swarming these last few weeks -
I've noticed the deer have been coming into my lawn and destorying anything that was ever green or will ever be green looking for a snack. I know you can't feed deer in NY but if someone had happend to spill a little feed out every other day or so do you think it would keep the deer from completely decimating the flowers, shrubs etc... or just draw more deer in? Mind you I live in town surround by neighbors on my property of less than an acre. My garden is already fenced but I have no plans of fencing in my entire lawn to protect the shrubs and flowers. THIS NOT ATTEMPT TO POACH!!!! and has nothing deer with hunting.

You sure did, Jump thru my hoops and I may give you a treat as I sit back and watch things just get more and more carried away without so much as joining the group that might be able to help in the slightest. Don't worry living in the Bronx I'm sure it won't be long before they come knocking asking you to surrender your weapons -
