Successful in NY? That's saying something...

I understand the pressure mangament aspect of it, I just feel I personally wouldn't be as picky if I had less time to hunt. -
Gun Rest

Folding card table with a folding chair and some sandbags -
You are correct that it doesn't change your actual length but it changes your perception of the length and you have to adjust your anchor point to accommodate this.A 30" inch draw is still 30" with or without a bow loop but if you tried the anchor your bow the same as you would it won't feel right. I have never heard any experinced archer recommend changing your style to accommodate the bow but rather change the bow to accommodate you. Hence a slightly shorter draw length or adjust your release something to compenstate the difference.

Need help deciding on a new 30.06 and 12Ga
Guns&ReligionCop replied to Tony7781's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
The most popular feature of the 700 is the quality for the price(not a bad gun) but its bolt unlike the mauser style bolt of the Model 70 is a lot more likely to fail. example such as a blown primer can disable the extractor and render the firearm useless in the field. Although it doesn't occur often there a certain aspects of the design that I do not like. google model 700 vs model 70 there are probably a million articles debating the 2 rifles strengths and weakness. As a owner of both I'll take my Model 64 in 270 over my model 700 308 any day. That being said my model 700 is incredible gun that shoots like a lazer -
OK, I'll leave you alone so you can go practice making all those headshots that you are an expert of

Gun Rest

Agree with elmo, it's not about getting caught its about obeying the law. Joe, you seem handy so why not build a shooting bench? A good rest on a good bench and your groups should tighten up significantly or your scopes loose -

I see people say shorten gun season to mangae deer, Wouldn't it be better to have longer seasons so people don't have to rush and shoot the first thing they see because they will have more time to hunt? -
I never liked a crossbow and I still don't but I destroyed both of my shoulders that required 4 surgerys. It cost me to miss a season but do to hard work and a ton of rehab I'm back out there but eventually I'll be beyond hunting with a bow but love Archery Season and a crossbow will be my only option. I would hope that NY wakes up and at the very least to accommodate the disabled. The dumb laws here were enough to drive my father out and he will never return but is able to enjoy hunting in his silver years even though he is disabled beyond a point that he will never shoot a bow again. That little dumb thing that attachs to bow so you pull it back with your feet does aboslutely nothing for someone that can't hold a bow out at arms length. That and I can't see one good excuse to not allow a bow during archery season.

Still plenty of Ammo in PA
-
just couldn't help yourself could you? Obama, Clinton and Rice aren't held accountable for the murder of 4 US citizens and you are concerned about your parking ticket from some metermaid when chances are you probably were wrong
-
Maybe where you live with some Barney Fife harassing people but try and sit in the car here and demand a captain for a legimate car stop the best is you will get is a Sgt there why you get pulled from your car and arrested for failure to obey a lawful order by a PO. Mind you this if they had a legit reason to stop you and ask you out of your vehicle. Law suits don't scare a PO who's on the up and up.

I disagree most of what you read most experts at bowshops recomend you go a little on the shorter side exspecially if you plan on using a release

Smith and Wesson M&P 40 caliber
Guns&ReligionCop replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Smith 4506 is great gun, I also like the sig P229 -
Something to think about, just because you know you didn't do anything doesn't mean you exactly have the right to refuse and could be putting your life in danger. Hypothecial Situation but this often occurs. A blue car with a female driver robs a bank at gun point and flees NB on 95 near exit 3. 20 mins later at exit 6 you driving your blue car NB 95 and are pulled over. knowing you are innocent you may not be thrilled but you will be removed from that car most likely at gun point and any refusal on your part could make your life much more difficult then it needs to be. Any competent PO will have no fear of a law suit in this situation as safety is paramount. That being said a PO can not just say oh I think you did something let me search your vehicle

Not getting back from botswana but I also like to keep checking whats going on in oerson not just from the computer

I admire your effort for a young man but I'll stick with sandbags. -
He's not completely wrong, longer draw equals higher speed and having a draw length thats a little shorter than longer is more accurate
-
Rule of thumb you should always go a little shorter on your draw length. You will shoot more accurate. If they measure you at 29.5 you better off going 29. That its betterr as you break your bow in the the strings will stretech. Here's something things I like that may not be for everyone but I find the most practical for hunting 1.) Arrows with 4 inch vanes. A little slower but more forgiving 2.) Drop away rest. More forgiving then a whisker bisquit but a little louder. 3.) Sight with all green pins. I find the other colors aren't as bright 4.) Sight with Pins that get small as the distance increase 5.) Something you feel with comfortable with. the best bow for you might not be the best for me 6.) Nylon string loop. Forgiving and lightweight and eliminates the need for any knocking pts that slow your bow down 7.) A practical hunting stablizer. Longer is bet for the range but always the case in the woods 8.) Plastic bow case. protects your bow and its lightweight 9.) Learn how to tune your bow yourself. It's easy to learn and you will do it right. Someone else tuning means its in tune for them not you and everyones different!

Don't know where that is, address? I was just over for the dentist and figured I would stop in.

I went to dicks in Wappingers Falls and they had no 22, no 17 hmr, no 223, 3 boxes of 308, 2 boxes of 30-06 only a few oxes of 20 gauge shells and maybe 20 boxes of 12 gauge shells and aboslutely no pistol ammo. Plus all semi autos like ruger 10-22 and marlin 22's pulled from the shelf!

Just remember there is a huge difference between a Officer asking you to get out of your vehicle and an Officer telling you to get out fo your vehicle.
