I already have property in another country and its filled with boar, wild pheasant chukar, woodcock and quail. I would get my property with in region 3 because of the convenience. -
I know you asked for 2 rifle calibers but I only need the one. I would get a 30-06 and a semi auto 12 gauge.

Welcome! I'm also from NYC so I know a little about the rifle and shotgun permit. I'm not sure how a minor arrest is going to affect your chances but I know for a fact that it will cause them to think for a little while at the least. Call 1 PP and talk to them about it.

I got my doe tags last week but still haven't gotten my lifetime tags yet though. Im not worried but I am annoyed.

I was told that the DEC gave permission to use the yellow tags. Then i was told that i may get harassed by the DEC but the tags are legal so its nothing to worry about.

Are you sure the closest one is 114 miles? I go to one in peekskill but there is also one out east in calverton county out to 200 yards.

I would probably look into orange county by Sterling Forrest or Stewart Forrest. 100k wont buy much of anything really.

Im really starting to get annoyed now that I haven't received my tags yet. I went and printed my doe tags but with slight problems.

I chop mine up and put them in plastic garbage bags before i bring them down in my crossover.

I don't have mine out so I wouldn't know. I usually don't start getting bucks until mid October.

I would go to her in person because there is no way I would wait that long for a deer head.

VJP is right. 308 is a great round but an 06 can do anything a .308 can do, but even better.

I went today with my father and we both got the doe tags we wanted. It was a 2 hour wait becuase the system kept freezing on the guys. I was told that they were given the green light to use the old yellow tags. Hopefully ill get my lifetime tags tomorrow.

30-06 is an awesome caliber honestly. Its my favorite caliber and probably the only caliber I will use to hunt big game in NY.
