  1. The only thing I use lead with is while surf fishing, or crow hunting. I hate lead but I think that people should be able to use lead for deer hunting if they like.
  2. I was waiting for someone to bring up that secret. I have had good luck with red and blue piper cleaner as well.
  3. Its too late to prune apple tree's now. I would prune them around February or march.
  4. Rod: Your going to have to bite the bullet on this and get some good quality gear. My suggestion is to get a Cabelas 10ft med Fish Eagle 2 Reel: Also spend some money and get a Shimano Sahara 300 or 400 if you like. I've caught hundreds of Salmon and Steelhead in the last 4 years with this and i have done ZERO maintenance on this and it feels like butter. Cabelas started selling this combo at around 150 (170 Separate) bucks Terminal Tackle: Get a bunch of split shot and a couple hundred good strong hooks. You will loose a lot of tackle, especially when learning to fish the river. Eagle claw hooks are good and pretty cheap but once they go dull just throw it out and get another hook...no point in sharpening these hooks. Waders: Also not a place to go cheap. Get a good quality set of waders that will last you a long time. Last thing you need in a fast flowing river is wader problems. DON'T FORGET A WADING BELT. Waders fill up like balloons with out these. Bait: I use Atlas mikes single eggs which I prefer to real egg sacks. Only about 5 bucks and you get like 50 pieces and they have them in huge variety in color. Line: I use 12lb Chameleon and its some of the best line you can get. The line is brown so it blends in with the water unless the water is super clear. I fish the town rapids and I find this line hard to break sometimes. If you have any other questions, fell free to pm me.
  5. I usually only practice to 30 yards.
  6. I would say to get a canoe as well. They would be more stable with that amount of gear.
  7. How hard is it to get a moose tag in ontario canada?
  8. I would have said T/C Icon but those are no longer made. Remington 700, Winchester model 70 and T/C Encore are great for that price range. Browning A and X-bolt are amazing guns for just a little more money.
  9. I doubt he found it. He did admit that it was a gut shot though. He probably should have shot a moving deer with a bow.
  10. With the winter we just had, i'm not too surprised to hear that some are still carrying.
  11. Its NY. Every one of his hunting video says NY in the description or title.
  12. Why do people post pics and videos of them breaking the law? Its one thing to do it and another to post it on you tube. Starting around 6:00 you can see the trophy rock and one pic of a deer licking it. I know its not the worst thing but as far as i know, a trophy rock is considered baiting and Illegal...especially during the hunting season. Just not very smart to post it up.
  13. I'm thinking of starting to apply for the VT, New Hampshire and Maine moose permits.
  14. I always thought they were illegal as well.
  15. I would if i had the money. I could manage the property in any way I see fit which is something you cant do in the state park.
  16. Congrats on the new pup!
  17. Congrats on the great looking birds!
  18. Can't fix stupid! Some vegans are really cool and actually prefer hunting to animal farms while others do this.
  19. Thats awesome! Not to far from my hunting property. Now I have somewhere to go when I get stuck going to go the commons.
  20. I would go with a lab if i was you. I have never owned a dog before so I don't know that much.
  21. Good looking buck! Congrats on the new mount and first bowkill.
