  1. Good luck! I was thinking about heading back up next weekend
  2. Id love to join you, but I can't make it weekdays. Hows the weather looking?
  3. I hear they're good if you dont freeze them. It would take a few to make a decent meal i think
  4. Im probably going to order one and try it this year. I like the versatility and how light weight the system is
  5. Very interesting. If they could establish a consistent run of sea-runs, I would definitely be fishing there more often. I didnt think there were any areasof LI that has naturally reproducing trout
  6. Maybe. It would be nice to have a good run of sea-run brookies. Unlikely it will amount to anything though
  7. Probably will have some bass and panfish in them. Theres two streams on the island that have trout stocked through out the year
  8. We saw more deer than trout lol. The best part was me and crappy being belly deep in the current and hearing the rain coming down the mountain...we didnt get back to shore in time. Still a great time out and we will be back at them some time soon

    Waders

I believe they got rid of that actually. I think felt soles are ok to use
  10. Yeah I have a friend out in southhold and he catches a ton of them every year. I just never bothered to go for them, so this year im planning to make an effort...i hope
  11. You take your boar out for them? This year I really want to catch a false albi
  12. Exactly what I didnt like about it! Just doesnt seem fun after the first one. I can see one being fun since its a fish you've never caught before
  13. What was boring about it? Ive heard a lot of people sat trolling is boring, if thats what you were refering to being boring
  14. Lol no never have, but it didnt look like fun based on the show tbh. Id rather catch the small guys on regular tackle
  15. They use them pretty often and they'll keep coming back there. Not sure what times of the day they'll use them though.
  16. You guys should try pompano fishing. Those are the hardest fighting fish. They use their bodies in the current. Also eels can fight very hard. Caught a 35" one when I was young and it fought harder than any fish I had caught till then. Id say steelhead have to fight the hardest though
  17. It depends on the time of year. In the fall they fight pretty good. It also depends on how oxygenated the water is. They give a good fight the very begining, but tend to give up. Blues definitely fight harder than stripers though. I like stripers, but id definitely prefer fluke, blackfish or trout over stripers. Never had walleye though. Blues have to be fairly small (sub 2 lb) and bled right away. Fluke and blackfish is by far some of the best table fare we have down here
  18. Lol thats what its starting to sound like! Sounds good to me though
  19. I agree. He flipped out and told them they're lucky hes not a piece of crap
  20. Come down by me, ill put you on some bass by little neck bay
