  1. I bought my last bow in 2010 and dont plan on buying a new one anytime soon. I get an urge now and again, but im more than happy with what i have. I have friends that buy multiple bows in a year and sell them all the time
  2. They really are super simple. Just make sure they're clean and you're good for the most part. I suggest you use blackhorn 209 powder. Not as convinent as pellets, but less of a hassle
  3. Id probably eat the meat tbh. Unless it was just perated on, im sure the meats alright
  4. Went out today for what is probably the last day of the Year for me. I took 3 of my friends to the spot I saw those 16 deer last week. Pushed for 9 miles for them and we ended up taking two and the same guy that shot those two missed another deer twice. All with the muzzleloader too. I saw 4 deer my self and could have shot at 3 of them, but I’ve shot enough this year and wanted to get my friends on some deer. Glad my spot paid off. If my other friend was paying attention we would have had 3 deer on the ground, but that’s his problem lol. My feet and back are killing me, but it’s always good to be out. I can probably get out one last time, but I think I’m done at this point Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If i wasant so far way i would jump on this in a heart beat! Good luck with the sale
  6. Maybe theyre doing some kind of maintinance on the filtering systems coming out of the res?
  7. I was told that if you shoot a deer on state land with a gun, they want to see it and you have to bring it in? Either way I have to go to ridge
  8. Whatlaw did they change exactly? I get my doe tags straight from ridge since i mostly hunt rocky point
  9. I guess long enogh? I reach up to the base of the neck and chest and pull out the trachea
  10. You should! LI has more deer than we know what to do with so taking a few fawns wont hurt the population, and you know that we dont have problems with doe tags Well when we shoot a deer we have to bring it in to the check station so they can age it and check it out. If its legally tagged as a doe, they give you back a doe tag on the spot. So I still have 3 tags that I can use, but two of them are basically unlimited doe tags
  11. I never do. I cut around the anus and reach in and cut the wind pipe with the chest intact. Nothing against doing it the other ways, its just I was taught it this way, and its what words for me
  12. Definitely another amazing season Got till the 31st to deer hunt here and ill probably be out another 2-3 times
  13. One time use from what they say Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Saw about 16 today. I bumped 2 in the morning that circled around on me, but I passed because they didn’t give me a shot I wanted. With the shotgun I would have shot, but not with the muzzleloader. Then around 1:30 I had 14 deer come in single file behind me. Shot the lead for that turned out to be a doe fawn. When I shot they scattered, but only ran 15 yards. I was slow to reload cause of the adrenaline, but once I reloaded they walked off. Not mad cause I had a long ass drag to the car. Don’t think there was a buck with them, but you never know. I shot the first one I could, but now I’m wishing I would have waited. Either way I’m happy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Man I cant wait to swtich to BH209 lol. Ive kept my gun in the car since monday because theres a charge still in (no primer of course).
  16. I believe BH209 is hydrophobic so it would be much lesss suseptible to temp swings and condensation, but I believe it can still happen
  17. Only thing that intrigued me about this is the new powder that hodgon came out with. Tried finding out what triple 8 is, but couldnt find anything. Looks like it might be their answer to blackhorn 209
  18. Oh man you had a great day. I figured today would be good, I just didnt want to risk being out there on the roads in this snow. Congrats again! Ill be out monday hopefully
  19. Hunted rocky point 3 times and saw about 9 deer total. Usually we'll see 20-30 deer a day. We pushed 10 miles 2 different days and I did 7 miles on my own one day. Missed one, but other than that I never had a shot
  20. Great dogs, except for the fact that they cant dive into cold water if you want to use them for late season duck hunting
