I can't disagree more. I really believe it has nothing to do with them not knowing the safe way to do things. sitting in a class will not fix it. It really has more to do with the culture of being safe and increasing the penalties for being unsafe. We run into the same issue in construction. you can have a tool blx talk about a specific topic and not a few hours later find guys doing just what you told them not to. Fire them and it gets their attention. Start hammering these clowns in the wollds that do stupid crap and that will change the view of hunting safety...My 2 cents i dont think a safety coarse every few years will change that issue either... In fact wasnt the guy an instructor anyway? so, that doesn't say much.

i usually ferment a week or week and a half before i rack it... and then let it ferment the same time before i bottle. i always bottle my beer but one of these days i will put it in a 5 gal tap. from what i hear most brewers do it that way after awhile, they get tired of bottling. i like to bottle, i dont mind it... plus its easy to store and what not. get your self some of the suger tablets for building up your co2 when bottling, makes adding the food for the pre existing yeast a sinch! instead of measuring out table suger, which you can do also...

you can taste the difference when racking your beer and it also depends what type of beer you are brewing. if i am brewing a wheat beer and i am adding say orange peel or a flavor of some sort i would rack it at the point i am going to add that additional flavor. if you are brewing a regular lager or ale you dont have to rack it. another sanitizer you can use is sold on the Mr beer website its good for sanitizing. i use it sometimes... if you do decide to rack minimize air boubles and stuff like that when you rack it. it should be a smooth process and when you do it does add some good flavor to a beer...

Is it a CrossGun ? ...... hmmm possible... lol

are you going to bottle your beer? if so save the pop top bottles when your done drinking the beer you buy.
-
yes a turkey fryer or anything that you can use outside with propane will work great
-
John you should also buy a wart brewer and a wart chiller. remember sanitation is key for brewing beer! wart chillers are great for bringing the temp of the wart down faster, at a certain temp the brew becomes susceptible to spoilage. and also watch out when brewing your wart on the stove, its messy if spilt and the wife will kill you... down the line buy something you can brew with outside and not on her stove lol i havent done a batch in a few months, been kind of busy. dieing to get another batch going! also, if you are bottling your beer, start saving pop top bottles so you dont have to buy them!

you think thats the answer? do you think the drunks removed from the road for life or hunters removed from the deer woods leagally for life will not find their way back in? i absolutely think they will. Its a harsh punishment to say the least and i dont think it really would change the mind of some people just becasue thet will loose there licenses for life. To me living with killing another hunter or child by mistake is 100 times worse and would eat me alive... If they do go back on the road or into the woods, they should get locked up in prison for that! Leaving them with a license certainly is not the answer. What other harsh sentence could we give them? It would certainly be harsher than what they get now. Some of these guys will kill a child and find a way to convince themselves they weren't to blame. : oh no im not saying leave them with a license or not am i saying they should not be punished... i think its a grey area tho for lines of convicting someone. im not saying what we should / should not do in a case like that. i was simply saying other then locking them up and throwing away the key, you can not 100% guarentee this person or other will do the samething again. i simply stated living with that on your concous is pretty bad, you know...
