Just curious if anyone got to go out and hunt today with the fresh powder? i know its only a dusting but just curious...

i know thats what i find so funny. that its illegal in NYS to use but they still remain to sell it, IN NYS. they are luring people in to use an illegal product. i can see if the DEC stepped in to abolish stores from selling it but its clear as day on the shelf and then they want to come down on a hunter for using it. its like a catch 22 "almost". we all know we dont have to buy it but if its right there infront of you there more likely to use it... can we buy weed or cocaine on the shelf at CVS? no, because its illegal LOL. but if you could buy it legally at a store why should the law have the right to come down on you for using it. Its all to funny to me, really... The law should nip things in the butt at the source first! If these products are not in the stores forsale and people are using them but if they are in stores and people are using thats another thing. im not ranting or anything, i just find it comical really.

18lb deer is tiny... that would have to be a new born literally. guys like that dont surprise me with some of the threads i have read on here. some guys man....

you know whats funny, i always wondered why dicks, sports authority and other vendors CARRY c'mere deer and acorn rage and so on if it IS ILLEGAL in NYS? i just dont get why send NYS vendors products that illegal to use in NYS? its kind of funny, almost like provoking one to use something that is illegal or just another way to make money. Its like you can not buy a stun gun or a certain pepper spray and have it shipped to NY. same thing with the baits that are sold, so if its illegal to use why is it do easy to get? hardest part about getting the attractants at the store is getting them before the other hunters buy them up! lol

im sorry, i cant belive that guys still cant properly identify a target before they let the lead fly... if i CAN NOT properly identify a deer and full body along with position of its body and also the back drop begind the deer, i just plain will not shoot. theres other variables i look at but to see there are guys out there still making this mistake is sad and this guy was a instructor? scary... a stray bullet i can see happening more often then another human mistaking another for a deer. why because he heard crunching leaves or braches breaking so it must be a deer! ?? crazy...

No problem...I always found the posession of the deer before I really shot it was a jinx to me ;D Anytime I did that..I ended up not getting it, haha. Way to get your friend out there...doing your part! i feel like that with a 170 class 8 i have watched grow all summer lol... felt like he was mine all year, still do and now since the open of the season i have not seen him once. just my luck i guess... lol. season isnt over you never know! i always like to think positive

It is off at my location by about 6" oh, so pretty accurate lol :

you would have to contact the DEC and they would fill out the paper wrk and you canthen take the rack. i belive at that point they treat the rack like shed antlers. when they are attached to the head it is illegal to cut them off and take them with out the DEC

i really want to get a few more times this year before bow is over...

i would love to get out this sunday but im having a huge holiday party at my house... Sunday might be a recoup day and cleanup. i might want to try and get out for a evening hunt otherwise it next weekend! i would like to see some deer herded up coming by my stand

VERY nice buck LI was that on the island?? ive never harvested a buck in december but i have passed on some smaller ones. i did have a nice 8 come squirting through running and grunting a doe every step and not 5 minutes later the same thing but with a bigger 8, grunting like crazy. No shot Op for me on either but a great hunt none the less.... and that was middle december or right before X-Mas belive it or not. there was snow on the ground i do know that.
