1 - I think they seldom sleep and when they do its not for too long... 2 - i do not think deer remains or dead deer in the woods alter deer habits and will not ruin furture hunts. ive hunted near gut piles and so on an had deer walk right by. i also killed deer yards from gutpiles... 3 - i do not think deer associate human tracks as a threat but as an easier means for themselves to move throughout the woods. deer are simple creature and use the path of least reistance, they will walk right in your tracks without a problem. i think there would be more cases where they do not care about human tracks then when they do care.

im sure there are guys on here who hunt that land. you will not here a word from them about it but im sure there on here... lol It is private property and i do not think it is posted, i can remember... eitherway you would need permission to hunt it via land owner and i would say its prob near impossible to get it. the guys who do hunt might stick close to the buildings on the property and prob sneak on... just my input.

as far as i know you can not hunt grummen proprty but im sure there are guys who work for grummen or the surrounding buildings on the property that prob DO hunt it. whether they have permission or sneak those hunts i do not know. i do know that place is loaded with deer tho. i took my Supra there for a photo shoot on the run way and there were deer everywhere. i just personally think it is NOT legal to hunt there. But there are prob guys in there cleaning up tho....

that deer looks photoshopped. right antler midway looks weird. i doubt that deer is real and deff doubt it is a NY buck...

If you bow hunt steve you have a pretty good chance of seeing the deer you have been watching all summer long come bow season. your right tho gun season those deer could be anywhere and maybe even some of the deer deeding on that particular food plot or showing up on cam may not even live on or near your property... but if they are those buck will usually return to there core area if they made it through gun season so far and come back to those food sources.

hope you recover your blind! sucks when people do stupid stuff like that... probably just a wondering person hunting an adjacent property or something... you must have been looking forward to taking your kid out with you. just dont do anything stupid on your behalf. dont want to go out and just blame or pick a fight with someone over it....

ive followed deer tracks in the snow and followed as they just walked around eating bark off of trees. they eat the acorns, graze in fields, farms, tree bark, bushes ive seen them eat alot of things. if you are looking to pin point exactly what they are eating in your neck of the woods well i dont think we can answer that not knowing your timber but if you have areas of food interest for deer on the property you hunt, well try it out. goodluck

damnit! i didnt get that memo! lol hard to see deer from the beach i guess, unless you on fire island! LOL

BTW i have a one peice thats insulated and i layer up pretty good. make sure your socks are layered, those toes get cold its over unless you getup for a walk. sometimes a stalk is a great option when its cold and snowy. but if theres not snow, sit on post for aslong as you can. bring a thermos or some heat warmers if you susceptible to getting cold quick. im weird, i dont mind the cold at all and can sit in 20° weather all day... ive seen some big boys taken in that cold weather when most of the hunters dont want to go out. sometimes in days like that you can come out on top!!

gotta be out there to kill a deer... i would grin and bare it! the wonderful thing about this sport is you never know. the one day your not on stand is the one day the big boy walks by. i know its easy to get dejected! but if you can rise above that BS and make the best of this season then get back in there and get the job done and goodluck doin it!!

nothing the past weekend for anyone? wow... what happened to all the deer you got all year long on trail cam? gotta find where those guys went. have you checked your food plot to see if there nailing it yet???

ive killed deer in manorville. deer are everywhere out here so you cant go wrong...

i heard the same thing about joe pescies cousin, never heard any one but bob talk about him lol. but none the less who gives a sh*t about his cousin! if you not seeing deer or anybody killing anything, is having joe pescies cousin in the club supposed to make it all better???? why would someone who doesnt belong to the club make a bogus complaint? dont you think complaints usually come from first hand experience? all the comments being made in this thread are first hand and from "members"

usually state land during bow and private land for gun season... this year i did a hunting club thats private land and it was some of the least satisfying and more populated and un controlled then any state land ive ever hunted...
