It took great restraint, not to make a comment on that one........ btw Im posting from East Greenbush, if that’s near you ?

Perhaps my only hunting regret was letting one walk twice in one day, a small buck, back when 1 1/2 were fair game to me .
-
It gets a little tricky ..... BTW the hunter , as I first posted right after he killed it is the cousin of my nephew’s hunting partner . https://www.realtree.com/brow-tines-and-backstrap/breaking-why-the-312-inch-non-typical-tennessee-buck-didn-t-become-the

Will do. I shot the 3D range there in the late ‘80’s when I first started bow hunting , I worked near by and a few of us would shoot after work. The key to shooting this gun is going to be being able to see the front sight !
-
It’s an honest target, I dumped the tube of 22s in about 20-30 seconds , never been one of those slow fire from a rest guy . I am thinking of joining GCC as it’s only few miles from home . My land is 64 miles round trip .
-
A ,little low and to the right , but great fun to shoot ! There’s a couple 7mm08 mixed in this target as well . 40 yards standing for the .22 . the small front site and my eyes made it a challenge ..... At first I didn’t see the white diamond on the rear site ! My readers make the sites clear but I didn’t have a pair with me , next time .

I do enjoy Genny Bock, it’s best on tap at the brewery though .

That would be great , I have a few archery books I wanted to,give him as well . One was bought at Northwest Archery , Glen St. Charles oringal bow shop and first home to the P&Y club , has their sticker on it .
-
It shot well, I only put ten rounds through it, as the box I had was a different grain , then I plan on hunting with . Had to move it up a bit, then my next group was height wise good but a bit right to,left . My rest was my elbow on a picnic table .... My schedule is fairly open ..... Although in Albany this week end .

Happy Birthday ! I shot that 7mm08 a bit ago .

Genny Imperial Cream Ale 7% . Barn wood is off my FIL’s barn when he tore it down years ago, a local artist wanted some wood, and give him this piece of his with the birds he painted .

As someone who sacrificed and invested a significant amount of his pay for 30 years, I can only hope so . Of course Mrs . Normad is currently, blocking putting that to the test .
-
Yes it was , I have the paperwork , but didn’t look at the price, as I know it’s more then I’d want them to spend .

Ny hunter, that’s a good point,, from reading online, many say don’t shoot it ever, that they’ll go up in value . But what good is that? My kids can sell it for a bit more ? I think I’ll use it but carefully , Airedale, that’s most likely what I’d do , in a case to and from the range , shoot and handle with care .

Last night was my retirement party, at which my former crew gave me this rifle ! It was way more then necessary, but I’m honored , and almost don’t want to use it . Not the best pics I know .

Mouse pad and wet/dry fine grit . http://brkca.com/convex.htm

It gets great reviews , and I thought about adding one to my collection of sharpeners , I’m not sure about reprofiling all my knives to convex though . Some of my flat blades I like 30 degree inclusive, not sure how reprofiling to convex would work out .

And in NYS the snakes are running the state..... not sure which I fear more .

Joe’s house is the lower one, and it’s not technically water front ,as the strip along the water is a different owner , that they have right of way on . 20 k is a rough number based on comments he’s made . Looking online it seems 8-10 k for an average sized home on a tiny lot . My sister pays 20k for her house on a creek in Greeece NY, but it was 3/4 million to buy , her son has a nicer home in Tenn. he pays 2k .
-
Nicely put and well thought out . If we were to move it would most likely be Tenn. low property taxes , no state income tax, although you may pay more in some fees here and there, but nothing to bad. Sleeper state for deer hunting, great fishing , tons of lakes, milder winters . My one nephew moved there 20 plus years ago. We don’t pay to,much in property taxes ( relatively ) on our small home here, just under 5K, but it would drop to $800-$1000 on homes we’ve looked at online in Tenn. some of those with lake views and access . I would love to buy on the water here and have two, freinds on the Bay, but there is no way I’d ever pay $20k in taxes to,do,so . Unless we had five million in liquid assets and I’d still be pissed . hum I’m in Webster pay under 5K don’t tell anyone......

Thanks I wanted to take the high road, and avoid any issues we may currently face . The sad fact is our PIO is horrible, and the Deputy Chief who briefly spoke on those retirements last week ,blew the whole thing ,he was just horrible too, I wanted to give those guys a proper send off .

Happy Birthday . -
Ha ! Today I cut the lawn , weed wacked , opened the pool, sanded the rusty pump motor ,painted it ,painted the base, cleaned out a bit of the garage , washed two cars ,ran a couple errands, and was a guest on Bob Lonsberrys radio show for 20 minutes . Retirement is hard work !!!
