  1. Que Biz..... Ok landowners , guys at work, a trainer at the gym who wanted to add it to his “ clean diet “, i practice shooting my bow on a near by large grass area that’s part of a local business’s property, the owner gives me the ok , and I give him slim sticks from Tony . I feel sharing venison is a great way to introduce non hunters to the hunting environment.
  2. Strip poker , is about as crazy as I get .
  3. He went dove hunting . I have a friend who runs a team of blue ticks, he spends about two weeks each year , following up,with landowners to make sure he still has permission . I really should go,with him, But I’m not sure I could keep up ,he goes 5 or more days a week all season .
  4. Enjoy ! I went to buy a Ruger PC carbine last week, the gun shop has not got one yet and said check back in a month .
  5. I get it . The new giant one by me has everything ,its quite amazing . Years ago some guys stole stuff out of lockers at the Bayview Y, I lost $90 and a credit card, they never found my snub nose .38 thank God. I saw the guys but did not know what the were up to at that point, once I figured it out and called the cops, I went straight to Wal mart across the road . I asked the Bell Ringer out front if he saw three so and so’s..... yep they just left ! I just missed them , they bought gift cards off the stolen CC before they got cancelled .
  6. This little electric cheap thing ( my back up to 30 year old Ariens ) did 9 inches of heavy snow like nothing . Ill be buying a larger cordless one soon . I basically could run with this thing ,crazy.

  8. I enjoy everything from death metal to willie, Waylon , Johnny , David Allen Coe , Jimmy Hendrix , Deep Purple, Black Sabbath. ive met and got autographs from Shania Twain , Alan Jackson , Willie Nelson ,Rascal Flats and on and on ,But today I have no taste for what’s out on the pop country stations . Dale Watson, BR549, Hank III, Aaron Watson, Steve Earle Drive by truckers , Two Dollar Pistols, Asleep At The Wheel, The Derailers , to name a few are the country artist I enjoy today.
  9. She ain’t country , same as most on today’s, “country” radio . That stuff is largely just bad rock and roll . CCR was a nice blend of swamp rock with a touch of zydeco .
  10. I’ve been known to sing Rappers Delight , by The Sugar Hill Gang, around the campfire after a few beers. That’s generally pretty awful !
  11. There’s your problem . Each Wal Mart generates around 1,000 ,911 calls for service per year . I avoid them like the plague, I tried going at 6 AM to get vacuum bags for Moog once. Neck tattoos, tooth less, and perhaps over all worse clientele then normal hours .
  12. Well I never had any boys.... My two girls , each day thay went off to school, I gave them two or three words of advice, be good, obey your teachers , try your best and so on. When they came home I had them empty their packs and looked at any returned home work and tests. As far as discipline, I always told them lying would bring a greater punishment then what they did . I would check up on them, if they said they were going to “ Jamie’s “house , I would ride my bike past the house a time or two and let them see me,or comment later, “oh I see you were shooting baskets “ . They never knew when I would turn up or where .... Most importantly. I set an example of behavior that I expected from them. My punishment was not an empty threat , yet I was also willing to, listen to their explanation. Now there were many times they each blamed each other, and it was almost impossible to tell which was the true story, and that was one area I struggled with . If you do your part , as they age it all seems to work out . Good luck !

    Beer

Down to 3 Headys, giving one of those to the landowner . And how can this other one not be good !! Could not buy it as this pic is from Work , picking up lunch .
  14. Neither of our kids scored well on the SAT ,both graduated Suma Cum Laude, one on both her Bachelors the other on her Bachelors and Masters ,that one also was TA and took two parts s of the CPA exam while doing her Masters.as well. They get that from their Dad......
  15. Ha 6/11 and all were guesses. Don’t know crap about crap .
  16. Ya my daughter thinks it’s rigged, and since she’s way smarter then me , that may be right . They need to show the correct answers. I may take it again, now that I’ve been drinking in my neighbors garage for a bit , as that tends to sharpen my wits as well as make me more attractive to the opposite sex. just retook it and put all wrong answers , and I totally failed , so it may be real
  17. I got ten out of ten. https://www.playbuzz.com/codycross10/can-you-get-a-perfect-score-in-this-unique-iq-exam
  18. In all fairness she is really strong and can go beer for beer with me . Oh heres another , fire on South Goodman , we’re outside after its knocked down, some guy watching , says to me , “ she’s in great shape isn’t she ? , yep I say. Then he says , “ I bet you wish you had her knees ! “
  19. Welcome to the club you thought you’d never be in ! In the academy my fellow recruits called me “ Ironman “, my first LT. called me Rhino, not a door or wall could stop the rhino ! The other day a 24 y/o lesbian and rookie FF grabbed my bunker coat to steady me on some rickety stairs.....WTF happened to me !!!
  20. Good thread . Perhaps some will get ideas of what they can do to be better prepared. Myself after the first ice storm we realized we had no way to get info, no battery operated radio ( pre cell phone days kids ) so I bought a AM/FM with TV channels . Many guys at work have whole house generators , the thinking is if we’re on nights, their wife’s can simply flip a switch instead of dragging out fueling ,starting.and hooking up the cords. We have a gas insert that even with out the blower heats this downstairs just fine . We have preset curtain rods to hang sheets from and block off parts of the house . 3 ways to cook, outside grill with extra tank,Coleman stove and a Jetboil . Mr Buddy type heater and a dozen green tanks. Back up sump that runs on water. Led lanterns That are crazy bright and run off AA’s cheap and easy to stockpile . Tv that runs off battery and an antenna so we can get local channels , last outage wife could still watch Dancing With The Stars ! Hey beats me having to play her in Gin .... There are things one can do to make it a little easier . One thing to keep in mind, what was on when the power went off may come on when the power does . Always have stove fires when the power comes back on , so remember to shut it off and don’t use the top for those pizza boxes.
  21. We did 11 days with out power in 1,990. Wasn’t that big of a deal, kinda like camping but with a house . We had a gas stove which I used to get the house temp up a bit when needed , window cracked a bit when in use .the days after were sunny and warmed up a bit as well . Being campers we were pretty well off although it did expose some gaps we’ve since filled . Being a FF for close to 30 years , I’ve worked many wind and ice storms that took down tons of trees and lines , my observations, are the unprepared complain the most . My guess is their parents never read them , “ The Three Little Pigs ,” Although last wind storm I did see two improperly set up generators start fires , so a little knowledge with the preps helps.
