  1. Got this pic. Once removed from a hunter there. Camp where over last week end the camp drove all week end seemed to work ok.....
  2. Stay away from your plot and cams. If your there most days they learned that. I've seen deer most sits this gun season, but 25 years on same spot makes it easy..... Dropped another tonight.
  3. They don't care simple as that.
  4. I know I said I'd shoot a buck on your birthday , but this is all that came by on my 2 hour sit. Happy Bday again !
  5. In honor of your Birthday I'm going to,kill a buck in a couple hours !
  6. You' ve done well. I too gave up some prime hunts to sit nearby my daughter glad to do it., although I did take doe this year. I'll be out in a couple hours as the snow and ice head this away....
  7. I'm closing in on 56 . Don't recall that though !
  8. My best stand is good for almost any wind but south is great! Can't wait to go on stand at 3:00. Now saying sleet, rain, freezing rain starting at 3:00..... But I'm in north end of county so hoping it holds off there.
  9. http://www.fenix-store.com/aa/ Big fan of these Fenix lights, built to last many modes. Low mode to light your path and not ruin your night vision , higher modes to search a field. Just fun to play with for kids of all ages. The link is to,their AA ones, easily available in any store, cheaper then the 123a ,s that most of mine take!
  10. Well Wooly I get what you'er saying , however walking in the woods 30 times seems a bit much. Most officers would just check the guys as they go into or out of the woods, maybe a stroll here and there. I'd talk to,his boss, then his boss .
  11. Plus two more of the farmers DMAPS......Guess I should have read above post !
  12. We have a large thicket that holds the deer. In the afternoon they do one of two things,1. Head north into woods turn west move through woods towards fields , we like this as we are In the woods waiting. Number 2. They go south , since the thicket is on the boarder of the next farm this is not so good. They leave their crops in longer then us and deer like to feed in those big open fields in the evening . So when we get a nice south wind and have the guys, one will park on the road at the boarder walk in and hang those strips along the edge of the thicket, continue on to the end of it and hop in a stand there where he can cover the west side south end of the thicket while we are in the woods. It's easy for him to grab them on the walk out. It's hard to prove a negative ( the deer did not come out to the south because...) but everyone likes the shirt hunt !
  13. Try a sign.... I also have a similar pic. Of them smelling a mannequin dressed as a hunter. Also put on an old t t shirt work up a sweat , cut it up place in zip lock bag. Hang those strips up wind of thicket, brush lot whatever , set up on there next best escape routes. People always talk about being super scent free, but nobody's uses their stinky sweat to their advantage !

    Piebald

One of my biggest regrets was not shooting one I could have twice on the same day. First saw it in bow, friend said neighboring farmer did not want it shot, well at the time I hunted that farm a bit so I said ok out of repspect of his wishes. Opening day I saw it on the farm I hunt most of the time, let it pass. Few hours later we were setting up,for a drive , I was a driver waiting in the woods for the watchers to set up across a field. Well the watchers bumped some deer that ran into the woods and that piebald now stood less than 30 yards from me, again not on the other framers land, I passed it a second time. Nobody ever saw that buck again and had two easy shots in one day......
  15. I've never even seen a deer sitting! They have all been standing or lying down .
  16. Friend out for a bike ride, a dozen or so deer milling about . He stopped took a few pics from15 yards or so This was yesterday 11/30/14. 3rd pic. (Snow shot) Is one killed with a bow the next town over , in the town hunt.
  17. When I'm getting up at 4:30 in the morning I like afternoons , when I'm tracking gutting and dragging in the dark I like mornings. That aside idk,I don't really have trouble killing deer in either. I've probably killed more in the morning but then I hunt more mornings.
  18. You can put in ten rounds.
  19. I think he was being sarcastic , should have used one of those winky face things !
  20. Probably was a Havalon ......
  21. Sparklers and Snakes, that is the good stuff ......
  22. My friend and hunting partner could not hunt yesterday morning because he was going shopping..... I said ok,when you get home toss your man card and hunting lic. In your garbage tote , make some tea, light a Yankee candle and enjoy Ellen on tv. Oh and make a big meal when the men return form the woods they'll be hungry !
  23. Slept in today, be out most of next week. Those out hang in there, two decent bucks were killed on the farm yesterday, and I had a small one with a limp in The woods last night . I would have taken him , but never had a good chance .
  24. I da ho ? U da ho Never see that sign here or Idaho as it's a digitally altered , and only exists in the internet.
