It's your call. Most hunters moved up in stages,or simply stayed at one they'er happy with or matches what's around where they hunt. I think you'll be happy to take any first buck though.

Ya cold is one thing cold with wind,no thanks . I'm already calling off tomorrow afternoon ,first time I can hunt coming off nights. I'll go the our union meeting then beer and wings with the brothers . Fri,sat afternoon look ok and all day Sunday , then most days next week if needed.

I shot my buck last year on the very last day! I ve killed many on OD and frankly on every other day of gun season too,but it can be a grind. The ones I'm trying to kill have been around a few years already anyway what's a few more days.

Don't work a m-f job so I got no dog in the fight,however it's been great for my friends who only can hunt week ends. Most guys I know don't have or go to camps . Those that do if you were taking off Monday,Tuesday and wed. To hunt and the week end prior to Hang out at camp,it seems to me you could now just take off Thursday and Friday before and have the same thing.

No most folks figured out In The late '80's that the average Harley rider is a middle age stock broker or dentist . In my youth if you saw Harley's out front you thought,could be a rough place, today you think they must have good lattes .

I heard a lot of shots OD,more so then in years. We only saw a couple young bucks one of which was coming right to my daughter who is not held to the mature buck rule on the farm ,but only gave a head on shot then went into cover. My buddy had a monster come in from behind him heard some foot stomps, and off it went. Oh well.

Back in the day we'd stop at the Senator restaurant on rt104 on the way to hunt. Big breakfast and people smoked in the restaurant too back then.we did not even shower in the morning as would rather sleep a bit more,never heard of scent killer soaps and the like. We killed deer fine,mostly because they would be running by after Being bumped by others. Some of my best hunting memories were from around that breakfast table listening to the old men tell,lies . I agree about the stores though, when Creekside gun shop was still open it was down right scary to see guys "practice" just prior to the season ( outdoor range there).

There is a ton of it on the farm south of me 1/2 mile long fields...... That farm is paying farmer who's land I hunt to harvest and store it for them, hope he does it soon !

Same here, I'd say a ton of deer were killed around here this morning. I have a large area and it's been slow on our spot that's ok , what deer are here are not stirred up yet.

I have scout look. I like it just to mark my stands,helps when showing others where to go and so on. Also my wife and land owner have my locations with stands if they need to find me. As for the weather and "scent cone". It's not much use,I know the wind where I hunt and there are variables that the site does not reflect. It will be windy at the road,calm at base of woods,then strong wind at base of slope,but if you cross woods to lee side calm again. Scout look just shows it all the same.

Is never over,just another page in the book ! I know what you mean though,I pretty much stopped last Wed. And I'm off work till Monday night. To much other stuff going on. My gun season can be somewhat like bow as we limit large tracks of land to few hunters,no walking,drives and so forth. Good luck!

The Mrs, has has her permit as well, with all my handguns on it. That way she can shoot and carry ,and if one dies the guns stay ,don't know why everyone would not do this.

There in lies my issue. I have a ground blind set up for my daughter..... I'll be in a stand 30 yards from her , I also have an orange vest around a tree by her. We are on private heavily posted land,with the woods being an island in the center of large crop fields ,so no easy access for trespassers ,which we have had little problem with for the most part on my spot. You raise a good point though......

Some interesting questions. I'd call the dec. I have 2 officers numbers in my phone and cards in my wallet,they've been nothing but helpful . Couple years back I shot a doe in bow started to fill out tag when I realized I was filling out my either sex tag! Opps can use it but that means I burn my buck tag on a doe. Called dec. He said since I called and he knows me, he told me what to do to save that either sex tag( which I never filled that year anyways). Another time tag blew off buck in bed of pic kip,again quick call dec officer told me to just make a "new " one out of paper with all info and his name on it as well. If you call PRIOR to any problem they'll help you out.

Like to listen to Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues over and over for the whole ride down. Other times I play best of Lynyrd Skynyrd ,my favorite song " they call me the breeze" just ends as I pull in the lane way if I time it right !

So,what was the stop for ? Seems like she did not get written for that,that's a plus. Im thinking open container since it's not a moving violation means no points which is the big thing anyway .

I used to hunt the suburb I live in. I've gone from the couch to shower and dress ,drive 1/2 a mile,go,up in climber ,kill a deer,have it back home in under a hour . That stand is 75 yards from a parking lot.

Zone 8 , went down to move a stand. New fresh scrapes all over the place.
