By the number of hunters applying for tags out west, I'm going to say no.

As of last year, u don't get a point for applying for elk, deer and antelope. Moose and sheep you get a point for applying for the hunt. You have to front the tag fees and they charge a convenience fee on the total amount{IIRC 2.5%}. Its costly!

No elk tag this year for me. The last time that happened was about about 20 years. Didn't draw the Montana elk/deer combo, the last time that happened was about 10 years ago when they still had outfitter pool. My backup on the years I didn't draw Montana was Idaho. The tag i used to get in Idaho was sold out 10 months ago. when May came around and I was tagless from not drawing any tags out west, I used 5 Wy deer points to draw a 1.5 point deer tag and used 6 antelope points to draw a 6 point antelope tag. I will be in sw Wy this year.

Some great insight here. Gnarls Barkley is my all time favorite tv buck, big body, big head, massive, old and funky antlers. Where i hunt age class is lacking. I don't think I've ever seen an old buck forgo the rut. I have read about it happen and not just whitetails.

iirc, co tag prices change almost every year. they r tied to the cpi. as for making u buy a license, its their way of getting money from gov. they don't care if u use it. they r trying to get bigger share of tax money paid by hunters and fishermen.

how much more is it going to cost u from last year? cory, it looks like u r going to let somewhere around $125 stop u from hunting co. biz, if u where just buying elk points its going to at least double.
