  1. Then traveling towards camp there is Canacadea state Forrest...before that rattlesnake hill hanging bog in Allegheny.. closer to you Hi tor http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/37457.html
  2. Your right I misread it was 478.17 and then 20.00 at the pump....I do not go into the city more than 3 x's a year so I stock up... 4 bags of Dunkin donuts alone will set me back nearly 80.00..add a couple of bags of wild caught cod,Easter uncured ham( higher price), Turkey sausage, produce,dairy,cheese...Easter gifts.... 2 32gb SD cards...paper products...Moss killer...Case of wine coolers to have on hand for female guests...Thats nothing I still have more local shopping to do
  3. Have you guys considered the water shed around Canadice and Hemlock? I just drove by a large expanse of land not even near the lakes themselves with great turkey #'s showing...The north end and the south end of Hemcock and the north end of Canadice... Is turkey hunting allowed in Stoney brook? I take it your just looking for private land hunting? think or the fishing you could get in when coming down the scout....The south end of Conesus
  4. Listen guys I know the liability to that...It was just a conversation you really had to be there to hear and see... I was in the catering business as a club manager ...not even staff was allowed to take home unwanted unserved left overs. Though like dbhunter pointed out it actually does happen..I know when stuff on a checkout counter is put aside because people changed their minds...I can sit there longer then they realize and you can bet...it didn't leave the store, it goes back to the cooler. Stock kids don't even think when they find something, back it goes... Anyways things people stick in your head...I know Sam's takes things back...I left Costcos and dropped 496 at Sams with out a passing thought....,But she wasn't discussing Sam's policies. So my disgusted meter was off...
  5. running here and there around the lake areas...they are looking healthy
  6. Not ex?...Oh to be a fly on the wall at those family gatherings lol
  7. Yep those types of thoughts most of us try to suppress while shopping...You had to be there listening and watching this person talk about it...lol haha nope that conversation is glued inside my brain...
  8. I'm not sure you can compare Wegmans to these big Box places...nor do I believe you could ever compare the management either...Nope that conversation is firmly planted in my brain...
  9. No I have a Sams club membership and they are about the same but...NO WAY would I shop there, Costco's, knowing that they take back food products that have been bought there...and this is a quote..." You'd be surprised how often food ,bread ,meats, produce and milk are returned. See they buy a lot for parties and they put aside what people don't eat and after they bring back the unused food"... You think all that unused unopened food isn't restocked...I worked in retail, I trust no one... I mean how much would be too much loss before they start restocking?
  10. You don't see the raccoon appearance in that? Nasty looking thing! combo looking thing of my two least favorite animals right there...
  11. So this am I had to take care of another health exam before turkey season...I do these before deer and turkey each year, then relax. I was right there so decided to check out Costco's..never been in one. Just another Sam's except for appliances I'm surprised they wouldn't give a buying day pass...I was allowed to " looky but no purchasey " ..lol Anyways I chat up an employee and they are telling me about the GREAT return policy. Well that brought to the forefront my pre-christmas hair clipper experience with Big lots...where the clippers upon inspection before wrapping landed me with a lap full of someones hair and skin..OMG...Anyways they tell me they take back EVERY THING...except big appliances ther is a 30day thing on those. I said every thing ??? Oh ya bread, meat, produce, not beer because of NYS laws on that! WTH. So That pretty much flipped my tummy ...thinking of restocks and I have no need for Costco's..... Oh and apparently it happens a whole lot and I would be surprised! hahahaha.........
  12. Nicky the biggest thing is probably the fact I didn't have to cook it. Though I think as far as ingredients hers is closest to the 3rd link,Martha's,just in a pie pan. One reason she won't give it out is she always did the broccoli salad, for gatherings. One year she wasn't there so I made my version...then I was asked to bring it every gathering...I use a bit less sugar more shaved carrots, then cheese, home made flavored vinegar and cranberries with the wht. raisins ,far less dressing over all so the flavors popped and weren't drowned....It was apparently an issue so she refused to give any recipes out after that..
  13. Doc,these man hole covers we have are great, you should think about it for future pumps...I just put big potted plants on them in summer...good luck
  14. There are a ton out there but the best is the one friends, and that's not being divulged. The Paula Deans looks good but rich...here are links to others to give an idea..so surprised few have heard of it. I'm having brunch casserole, baked french toast with maple syrup ,ham and a beef roast, broccoli salad, fruit salad, daughters bringing green beans and desserts. fresh rolls. and Mimosa's. http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/delicious-tomato-pie http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/tomato-pie-133838.aspx http://www.marthastewart.com/317613/tomato-pie
  15. In all its grossness .....pork nibblers and grated potatoes on the grill, beets and baked beans..
  16. I don't think I have a regular scheduled grossness, but perhaps you'll learn and try something new sometime.
  17. I Have to tell you they are delicious when made right..we have a friend that makes them but refuses to give up the recipe.
  18. Not same pie this is actually in a pie crust.
  19. Mr B want to go out for Easter brunch...me not so much so I'm cooking...simple variety ,but I'm looking for a real good tomato pie recipe...do any of you have one you enjoy?
  20. Well Well those were some interesting numbers...Now I see why these guys tried the end run they did....What was being said about the majority wanting???hhhmmmm 8N sits in the DEC southern tier and they clearly want any deer and any buck I choose in the southern tier Same for the northern tier....
  21. Feel for you Doc but have to say..you put in a septic system when YOU built the house and then never put in easy clean out tops? The first thing we did when buying our place was put 3 man hole covers over our septic...easy clean out...Septic guys love us...Have you never had it cleaned? If you did that company might have the location on file. All that said ..been looking for the septic down at camp for well over 15 years...dug holes cant find it...too cheap to pay for a flush-able GPS tablet...I believe that's what they said they use in these cases expensive PS you had to submit plans to the town when building ..I assume they required the septic plans as well? taxes assessor may have all that in your file.
  22. By now they have usually started gobbling hard ..but maybe I'm loosing my hearing...because I had your video turned up full...didn't hear your birds...to much time with equipment over the years I guess...
  23. I had to redo batteries in the Bushnell I bought last year...apparently when they go I need to reset everything....times right though..Anyways should I be Happy? ,apparently the cam should still be working at least into 2025...lol That is part of the main plot area...where the deer and water tub are. Was a excellent clover plot but the moss had a particularly good season last year and took it over so I sprayed and planted turnips...I left the orchard grass for they love that winter through spring but that entire area now needs a good kill...liming and replant will probably do the spaying Wednesday when I return from a Dr. Appointment. no rain due Wed-Friday. I need to get the corn and sorghum mowed pretty soon. Not quite sure what that plot will be yet...more than likely a buckwheat planting...
