Not always on new plots do you need extra fertilizer..That is pretty rich looking soil..save your money a bit longer and see how it grows first.
-
Sod that soil looks great..to help double that plot, once you have clover growing well you can go in later summer and over seed with WR/turnips.I Assume you know the PH and or added what was needed..Now just use a low/nitrogen fertilizer mid/summer. Remember what you see as far as Sun angles now won't be the same summer through fall.

So I set the new cam out and checked this a.m. My bad I didn't set it up correctly so no pics...I went back after re-reading...and set it up again but brought a new card with me...took some pics and then switched cards out...It's the most complicated I have to set up as far as features...NO where near as complicated as a wildgame I bought that died within a year. But I like what I see...now lets hope taking live animal pics turns out as nice...and night time isn't all blurry This is a great spot for deer, turkey, fox, and yotes for they come up that trail out of the gully. I added a picture of a deer from another cam...just because It sorta reminded me of a " show horse " type of shot...just a nice looking deer...

Plumbing quote for new main from house to sewer.
growalot replied to First-light's topic in General Chit Chat
A whole lot of money!! But if you need a 4' diameter from the house to main..... you have bigger problems then Doc...lol If it is only a 4' section...you must be sitting right on top of the culvert ditch...which I could see as another problem... -
I need not answer this one...

I looked up on what this is about...kinda moot points for United now ...the CEO stated on national TV, a paying customer boarded and seated will never be removed again....so I suppose they'll just make sure they do it before boarding... Though they did threaten another with handcuffs if he didn't give up his seat in first class to a priority passenger...So tell me If they had a seat in economy for this first class passenger...why did they not give it to the "priority" passenger...Now that would pizz me off, same plane that should not be allowed.

New to septics? rules to remember: Get the girls under control in the house...No flushing!, What the package says and what is real aren't always the same. Not all TP is equal either. No dumping of chemicals and mop buckets with detergents and bleaches waxes and such look for the septic safe stuff No dumping hot grease down the drains. That is kinda like with people on well water..no dumping hot water in the toilet...it will crack the porcelain, well water is much colder, that's why tanks sweat on hot summer days. When you killing off bacteria with these things...you need to at least try to get some growing again...poor term but....septic tanks are a living thing if healthy

Oh next weekend I hit camp...can't wait to see hear things down there...redo a few brush blinds and make my presence known.

If they move from the lakes to our place... I do know we have a good # here...though cams have gone dead....Which never surprises me just before any opener here...They are being fed well in the area Which is why I love having those wonderful heavy wide branched oaks on our place...can't beat good roosting trees and good water. I left the sorghum all winter and it still has heads...and I think the turnip plots maintained a good bug population so I'm still in the fight sorta speak.
-
Yep pretty sure that glided right over several heads...

LOL see what it brought out?... Though I thought I put enough LOL to to the point of obnoxious to get across ,I just found the conversation funny.I also said from appearance they looked like another Sams and then went too Sams and bought meats and breads and produces ect,ect.. There is some real loyalty to Costco, and other perspectives I see...A conversation starter that got some good conversation on food budgets at the least going.

Fruit plots going in this weekend

BTW.. I see that link says my amendments are a no no... I have been planting trees a long time and when mixing the dug soils in and I should have been specific.McDonalds hot coffee comes to mind here, you do not add a lot of lime or heavily fertilized bagged soils. a good peat mixed garden soil is good. also opening up the root ball a bit on a potted plant is important. Some of these trees are last years hold overs so if the root ball it compact and wrapped around some root pruning may be needed .All depends on what you are seeing when removing the root ball from the pot. The link is good and has questions and answers. Remember not all soils are equal...the prep I do is due to soils and sub soils we have a lot of shale, and acidic soils. but compacted soils do not move water thoroughly so all the water adding lets me know how long it takes to drain. when working with clay's mixing is important but tamping and settling soil is too. Tamping ,not pounding, the soil around the root zone reduce the chance of air getting caught, air and roots is a bad thing . So I do this one layer at a time...that's where the stick tied to the tree comes in handy... http://www.wikihow.com/Plant-Fruit-Trees -
Mentioning pre-hunting physicals has a reason...not dragging deer. Though they are hitting rough hilly terrain sometimes, doing a lot of sitting( which has it's own issues) and the adrenaline rush can become a problem..So gentle reminders hurt no one.. Winter can be an inactive time for a lot of people. Guns, vests add hopefully carrying a turkey back to the vehicle and or house can be a bit much if ones health isn't what they thought.

It was a conversation starter... and Mr B got home and said, hands full of little brown bags...I went to Wegmans for olive oil and NA...140.00 later........That's another issue we have...Did a bunch of research and weggies,as I call them, is one of the few EVO suppliers in the area that I can find documented not to come from maphia controlled sources thus actually pure EVO. not blended.

Fruit plots going in this weekend
growalot replied to Chef's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Elderberry are bushes...nothing wrong with making a big hole to plant your tree in..Mine are wide and deep..then the soils taken out amended and blended in a wheel barrel with lime and bagged potting soils. Then put back and tapped and watered. More added in a center mound tamped and watered again...I do that then go work on the next hole while the first settles. I go and plant the first tree. I tie a long stick to the tree where the soil line should be and it holds it at the correct height until planted and firmed in..water in well..then go plant the next or dig the next hole. Don't forget to bury the support stick at the same time as preping the hole, this sets it in good and firm so it doesn't move around letting air get to the root zone. -
Is that a solid seamless band on that Bird? I only ask because I raised exotics and that's the type of band we had to put on our chicks...They had to go on as chicks and they grew into them...only way to get them off was cutting off the foot. Does the DEC band chicks?
