  1. Speaking of damage....I had no damage on the doe I shot. Also just one hole in hide. The slug went in where I aimed, slid along the neck(without bruising it) under the shoulder blade, hit one lung and entered the heart and stopped. That was a pleasant surprise
  2. There are too many of you that grew up in the eighties playing "T Ball"...Everyone's a winner Crap...No in sports not everyone is meant to be a winner....They should have hung the mentally challenged persons that came up with that by their thumbs for a few days. then knee capped the first to embrace the idea.
  3. He quoted the wrong person.....Lol that post must of really rattled his cage....
  4. Tossed salad, red skinned yellow baby potatoes, beets, baked acorn squash, venison chops sauteed in herbed olive oil and garlic smothered in onions and portabella mushrooms.
  5. Congrats to everyone...what precious bundles of love they are!. Anxious to make their mark on the world!
  6. What would grow? I cant pull up my good woods plots because the drive won't let me in ...I keep trying...
  7. High tensile wire painted dark grey and brown..breaks up the solid color.. a twist an tuck ends....if they will cut a strap..the wire is no different. Just nearly invisible against tree.
  8. Harsh crowd...he probably has a higher IQ then any of us, knows it and could a rat's pututy what people think of his looks...
  9. No I didn't but that pic looks a bit smaller than today's Bird...maybe a mate... I know we have a few flying these hills...I've seen them as far as Wayland. Great pics though.

  11. Starting out with home made poppers and hot chicken wings..Will make it so. Chicken sausage and cauliflower , pes, baked sweet potatoes..salad
  12. Happy Birthday ...have a great night and wonderful 2017
  13. Great picture...But seriously that sweater is a real eye catcher! You need to dress her in camo wht. for winter and green for summer.....lol It's like shes in a handy carry sack....
  14. Happy New Years May you all have a happy healthy and prosperous 2017. Enjoy good days with family and friends through out the year.
  15. I just love this place where else could I go feed the chickens and have an adult bald eagle soar barely over the tree tops over my head the whole length of the property. Go home tell Mr. B of it and have him leave with the recycling to call me 5 mins later..."how far away was he? because right now he's 25 feet from me in the farmers field...I'm watching him take off with a meal "...How cool is that!...He said no kidding he's huge...beak must be over 4-5 inches long and your right the wht feathers on his neck almost look like fur in the wind...Yep fun watching the juveniles in the summer but the adults are a sight to behold...
  16. Your luck her "brief Move " was NYC...ours was Milledgeville Georgia......That was one long haul driving straight through with a huge u-haul truck...trying to keep up with her in the Mustang...I felt like smokey and the bandit...just us two woman...
  17. I GOOGLED fruit tree nurseries in Vermont and several popped up..some are pick up only...
  18. Larry..this is the biggest block to my hitting camp...he wants his dinner made...He has a surprise in-store this next season....Funny...I don't have as issue kicking him out the door to camp...it's my vacation time ..yet he's the camp cook..go figure!...lol
  19. Can't disagree with that...even I would fill a few tags that first week...before they hit the sanctuaries and go incompletely nocturnal...I won't shoot past 35 yrds but having shot and killed deer with my cross bow, know there are deer I pass shots on with my compound, I would not with the cross bow and with confidence.
  20. I am a lone hunter...I liked camp for a day or two but before we had these home lands I staggered my hunting to go with when camp was empty. Being the only bow hunter, before teaching the kids I had the place to myself...and the same with Turkey...I hunt a bit harder than the guys, always have...I don't use the 4wheelers unless dragging is needed,go in and leave usually after dark . Use scent control, calls, scout, and plan. Also stand sets, I have many many many more sets than they would ever have and ground blinds. The woman I've met seem to enjoy being lone hunters as well....not as crazed as me,but independent.
  21. depends on how fast you want fruit...hybrids and semi dwarf will be an over all better fruit producer early...check out Cummings tree nursery they have bulk pricing and are out of NYS. Though you may have a similar type nursery in your state..Google whole sale Vermont tree nurseries. If you find one fairly close you could go and pick them up...bigger the caliper the better.
  22. When I get to the computer I'll pull up some pics for you
