  1. After 2 of last years encounters I thought about it and opened 2 sections of the lower fencing...granted the fencing isn't even completed yet, but they enter either from the section that stops just past Rivers blind and the end at the road...though there they have to go through the pines....Now many jump the fence...In fact one of my last 8's jumped the fence moments before I shot him in my woods..This said a crazy wide racked buck with 2 8-10 in drop tines on a perfect symmetrical rack didn't jump...and I had to watch him go to the fence several times and hunch like he would only to walk to the road..then his rack was just too wide for that tight fit through the pines...another was a beautiful dark racked big boy that fed 35 yrds from me a long while just to walk away..not to mention all the doe...he also started but opted not to jump. I put in place a cattle panel 500ft down the fence as a just in case when I built it and just undid it and moved it down the fence a bit leaving a fair opening...then I cut the fence between 2 concreted poles at the mid 8 ft. fence pole and rolled it back...This will allow them easy access during bow season...they will be closed back up during gun the first week and then weekends. I added a section of fencing to the cut one so I'd have plenty of overlap to tie in Now if they don't cross...well it's fate... I could have easily shot and dropped the dark racked buck ...but he was on the neighbors side of the fence...Oh well not the first won't be the last...but still fun to watch and hope...

  12. You all have dancing around in your dreams and on that wish list...What other thing or things are you hoping for this season....Me...It would be a Holloween buck...don't know why mile stone date I suppose that or a great opening day mature doe or big buck..didn't say rack I said buck but if the rack had a sticker or 2 I wouldn't complain.....

  16. I have to tell you the wet hill looks like a jigsaw puzzle and I was able to walk in the swamp clearing limbs and a couple of rose and never sink in...muddy yep but not the normal boot sucking action...woodland plots are looking yellow......I still have a bad headache...even though I packed water in...
  17. It all depends...I have been listening to racks clashing out my bedroom window and in the woods on my walks ...pretty often now...It's why I started the scrapes...add a regular doe bleat...not estrus bleat and he may say hey I just got settled in here!!! Come in looking around...Don't forget locator soft grunts... PS... sometimes it's not when ..but how you do it that can make a difference...put out some dominate buck urine...regular doe pee...Then again....I will be using my decoy early this year...best they see him now before they have had their arses kicked by a real big boy...they will be less hesitant to come check him out...
  18. Did anyone watch the new series on CBS...i WAS GOING TO UNTIL IT SAID THEY WERE TO PREMIERE IT on regular stations but immediately place it on their ALL access channel for 6.00 a month I wouldn't pay for their channel now if Netflix had only the 3 stooges showing now...some crap bugs me...
  19. A little early morning rattling and some grunts and bleats may have him checking out the competition...
