  1. Jdubs..honestly do not know I was surfing and I'm not familiar with these hunting celebs.
  2. OK I still have hope and now that I have made dinner ,a cake and did some prep work I will go to that stand in 1 1/2 hours. I will be hoping to have a deer for my, new to me, deer frig...inside dimensions...4"W 4.8" H and 2.2 D.... cut off legs and no need to even quarter hang from racks on ceiling Good luck guys
  3. Just morning and late after noon for me...Lawd Watched an interesting You tube last night... guy surrounded by crazy big mounts...talking about how he hunts only certain days and each buck was shot on such a day...days after higher temps and winds and falling pressure. in other words he hunts high pressure days with cold temps and mild winds... I'm thinking I may be spending a bit more time "on the couch"
  4. In stand at 6 out at 10. bumped one on the way in ,made a ton of noise climbing. I forgot 2 things, tow rope and phone, not bad. Need to squirrel hunt and figure a way to nuke the chipmunk population,,,It was such a wonderful morning, The night sky walking in was spectacular and I'm so glad I wore my winter gear! Just 1 doe and twins snuck past 35 yrds behind me...I was in the middle of the oaks and hoped they'd feed past me towards the main plot... they did...just in a different direction. Then the gun club let loose ...morning stopped being fun bam, kapow, bam, bam, bam, kapow.........think they are having an event...Just a ton of deer on the card pull from apple tree 5-11pm... and two young buck showed...Got home Mr B has the dble frig was running...He was hopeful too...I had fun! Oh ya...flock of turkey flew off roost behind me and fed up the hill through the oak...
  5. You hunting near me? Because I pulled the apple tre card on the way in and 2 buck that look JUST like that were at the apple tree this morning... good thing I didn't go there, they were there at the time I hit the road for my walk down hill... That will be my afternoon stand...wind cooperation needed..
  6. coffee cup of cereal I use honey oats with almonds and milk...eat this half hour before bed...you will sleep like a baby all night...heard it on tips for your life radio...dang if it doesn't work... BTW ....rob there is and it's called the Steady Ready, Knight and Hale originally made it...
  7. Lol...I don't know. I'M left handed shooting a right handed bow...left Eye dominate so no sights..so nothing floating around. Everything's rock solid...
  8. Lol what is that? Danm Kindle the Koreans have hacked me...hahaha
  9. I always wear a mask...I always end up with a sore under my nose from moisture and I have an acidic system which. Irritate s my skin. So this year it's face paints...what do. You use? ଓĉ̃最쯰좍ᬛ
  10. Good...best of luck this season...You can say none of your business and I'll understand...but curious how big and estimate on cost?
  11. PS.... Biz...remember last year...I couldn't get a doe in day light to save my life...save the early one that ducked me...An early Big doe ,my choice thank you DEC, is a trophy for me...they are always the ones looking up at the stands...sticking heads in the blinds ,walking around with one foot ready for that stomp...or out of sight a 100yrds away snorting at you in the dark......bucks don't give me 1/3 of the problems doe do here...
  12. Driving?...wow that's a long drive.....
  13. Biz honesty here there hasn't been any save a 4pt. on the property all year, UPS guy has seen just 2 120" buck behind us...he's a trophy hunter so I trust his estimate. We have a couple of big buck hunter friends...one has an Awesome farm and was Telling Mr B he hasn't seen a buck on his property all year. Another just yearlings... Something has changed in the area...but with all these doe...come Oct 17th...things should get fun here.... If not I'll hit camp for a weekend...
  14. I have hope for a morning doe...a few spots have them understands and in front of blinds wind will be a factor...but if not the morning...This picture was taken 2hrs after I was out there shooting yesterday...my ladder stand is behind the cam/apple tree and my ground blind is behind that hazel nut bush those 3 deer in the back ground are 5-15 yards in front of it. right next to that blue barrel on it's side in the garden. Yep hopeful...just barely shot over a does back from that apple tree stand last year. But unlike last year..I'm seeing lots of day time doe...and they went in and flattened 1/3 of the oats with distinct beds...thats in front of another good bow stand, great gun one....
  15. Good luck guys ...up here in 8 N we are having perfect conditions for at least tomorrow mornings opener. No rain for 2weeks,rained yesterday and most of night, temps dropped and raining on and off today cloudy...The walk in will be quiet and the temps in mid to lower 30's little wind now hoping that lasts...best to you all
  16. Use to have to fly my wire haired Fox terrier to PA for breeding...the thought of her at the airport was terrible...but she made out fine...she'd be gone a month..then angry with me for 2...Lol
  17. from the garden ...at least one year to the next...
  18. LOL my own fault...I put in a pumpkin/ squash food plot last year...stinkers have long memories regardless of what some say...never had a problem before that....
  19. They are and you can actually see it in the muscle...BTW one should always be careful about buying 4H hogs at fair...not all are cared for quite as well as a farm raised hog...they are usually on ground not concrete housing...some never wormed...
  20. Sweet...deer went in and stomped then ate everyone of mine...think they may have gotten the neighbors as well...
  21. It's usually very breezy here...My best deer were on little windand early morning hunts.I have sat in a stand hours with a slight breeze in my face to have the sun dip behind the trees and the breeze pick up to a blender rotation around me..I'll tell you...it's where the deer hang out..but I do get winded often...ya never know when a breeze will arrive on this hill or lots of times what direction..
  22. I am as ready as I'll ever be...you all be safe...and may the sun be at your back and the wind to your face, let all arrows fly true and the sounds of crashing float to you...Good luck
  23. Haven't responded because for me not important until I hit the hot zone ,as it were, before opener...I am shooting just one arrow now and the broad head I will use I switch between the G4's and the thunderheads...todAY WAS THUNDERHEAD 100GRAIN...FIRST SHOT WAS 25 YARDS AWAY AND IT WAS SET THE TARGET DOWN PACE THE 25YRDS TURN AND SHOOT i WAS DRAWING WHEN TURNING...ONLY ONE SHOT NEEDED ...i THEN WENT TO A DIFFERENT THAN NORMAL TREE STAND...i DID NOT PACE OUT THE SHOT UNTIL AFTER...i CLIMBED AND DECIDED THAT DUE TO MY DONNING...aHH CAP LOCS!,SORRY...a bulky rain jacket...rain and breezy I would work a scenario shot...I closed my eyes and thought.... There are steps...not sure which direction...no time to stand . I think moving to my left it's stopped...I opened my eyes acquired the target as I drew and shot...got down and it paced out 21 yrds from the bottom of the stand It was a strange position because of a tree and I normally stand to shoot but practice sitting...one shot...so today was a two shot day and I am pleased with both. knees ache a bit(ladders) and slight twinge in shoulder ...but not bad
  24. That must not have helped in your trailing education...there had to be blood every where lol looked like good placement on the horizontal ... just way forward..been there done that!
  25. In bed still dreaming?...hahahaha
