90...Lol I actually saw this season coming before it got here...and yes..I now regret some passes I did..especially that doe in the swamp...envisioning getting her out of there now doesn't look so bad....Lol

I to watched that beautiful Sun set... haven't seen a deer in a while...not even the fawns..nothing on cams.. How I know for sure it's pointless... neighbor drove their Gator from east to west towards me and through the middle of the golden rod field.. did not kick one deer to me..

That looks like a lot of shade... size of plot and seed selection depends on deer density and surrounding natural browse...Alfalfa needs good light. Beans , and chicory need good light. Also on small bean plots you have to plan at least half as much more in order to stem wipe out.. I use buck wheat and spring wheat with the beans...or now Sunn hemp...talking soybeans... if cow peas hemp and Sun flowers ..this will draw the deer all summer...late summer..mow close...and plant a combo of perennial and annual clovers . If you planted thick enough you will have lowered weeds growing. So clovers should be good the following spring. Low light..... look for low light clovers also Dutch clover is good ..not as much tonage but handles.browsing and traffic and weeds well.

I Know that was a slam at me...but I get along with them...they have given recovery rights and that site was there way before the stand. This is the site I walked the DEC to when they came to check our place and found nothing.. This is the site that they told me was legal UNLESS there was a town ordinance against it...Not one officer But 2 ,one was a DEC hazmat specialist from Albany. Stand is there because one great location of deer and Turkey...Fantastic giant tree...the stand is huge. And it's where 3 properties connect,all three of us had problems with a group kitty corner to us...I took care of them within 5 years of building the stand. This is very common in farm country. I have cleaned up several of these found on our 5 different parcels. .....Ps.. doesn't tame much to draw out the nasties does it..nor their followers...

What a change! Hunting in hoodie and tights under outer layer...winds howling but I'm in the giant maple stand...no movement. Sun glasses on and can still barely see..not a cloud in the sky.. had the windows and doors open at the house..Not expecting deer but don't care..what a reat afternoon to be outside in late Nov...squirrel chase behind me ...jump started my heart...lol

LOL...I'm back in from hunting for round 3 ...thanks to a green salad with beans and lentils before a dinner of venison chili...WHAT was I THINKING...I almost did a firemans drop down my ladder...

One shot a ways down the hill. Heard deer moving by down along ridge. So far nothing here. Not even along nieghbors trails. Weather broker last night..they were probably on the feed bag all night .

Well yesterday was furnace maintenance day, so I took advantage of the whole day to undo the damage this miserable season has done to my house...in other words I cleaned and dusted...Lord even vacuumed the basement floor and ceiling...(stinking spiders) LOL So now getting ready to hit the woods in rising temps and southern breezes...If nothing else...Mr B keeps saying .."your legs are getting smaller...,your jeans are looking a bit big.... So alls good in the deer woods and I have seen some pretty mornings starting several days... Good Luck Everyone going out....knock em down....

The DEC. Makes a specific report each year on this... if you do a search on their sight you may be able to.found all the info and compare years.

How warm does the garage get? Open the Windows and If the deer is hanging high enough the doors to..let in as much cold tonight as possible...close every thing up tight when you wake. And pack cavity in ice..That or quarter and pack in cooler.

Venison chilli with fresh beans.lots of garlic ,peppers, onions,and my canned hot peppers and canned tomatoes ,lots of spices..

Your blocked Doewhacker so I only see you when not on line...No you said they move every few hours...9-10 hours is not every few hours...Of course deer move...but note not all deer move around any distance during the day...those deer were moving dawn and dusk...AGAIN NOT EVERY FEW HOURS.....if you repond I probably won't see it so what ever....

I have to say you may be repeating what you have read...I just last week talked about some doe that came in around 6:30 am and bedded directly in front of me...I left then came back at 12:30 pm and they where still in the same spot...all they did was turn their position...probably from stretching. This they will do every few hours ,stand arch ,stretch shudder and lay back down......those deer where shot at by the lease guys laying in wait at 4:30 pm just a few hundred ft off my line, which was 80 yrds from where they had bedded... They never moved for 9-10 hours. This is not the first time I have witnessed this in both doe and buck.

I know this...he was fishing and I'm pretty sure hoping I'd go walking around pushing deer off my place if they are seeing them... I told him about the neighbor on our land across the road...First thing..." We got that 12 on our cams". So now he knows one target is gone.... Also That I don't take head shots. Fishing call...

New neighbor called...he seems to think someone shot a doe in the head on my lower property and it made it across his new land to his house land and to the edge of his drive way to die...asked if I'd shot... I haven't shot my gun once this season...asked if he back traced blood and didn't...he has hunters all around him between our line and his...makes no sense...I asked about shot ..back of neck through face.. WTH......I feel like our place is the filling of a steaming cow patty sandwich
