I was taking walk thru Golden Hill St.Park earlier today and came across this snake going across path I was walking. It was moving tip of its tail like a rattlesnake would when coiled up, but there was no rattle. And it lunged out to bite when it was coiled. I know nothing about snakes so was wondering if anyone knew what kind it was.

The weather man on Ch. 4 Buffalo mentioned the wind chill was at 38 F. Crazy 24 hours for sure.

There's lots of good fishing out there ....depending on time of year. You can catch trout and and lots of panfish. We used to catch lots of silver bass on the end across from the foot of Hertel Ave.

Supposed to get some this Saturday and it should be widespread over the WNY area into Sun morning. Keep your fingers crossed.

Temps then are way to warm for me, can easily go into upper 80's or even 90. It's still summer. The yellow jackets would love to snack on deer blood and meat that time of year.

Snakes I don't mind, but spiders I hate. I used to have a rose hair tarantula as a pet, and would give it crickets to eat...and it would expose its huge fangs and chew up those crickets in no time. Haven't liked spiders since....and that tarantula found a home at the pet shop. Now its spider vs. me and a can of RAID!!
