One of the bad reasons of having a trail cam. Slight hi-jack : My dad and i checked a trail camera in the beginning of archery , we both see a picture of a bear, we notice the time stamp was 45 minutes earlier, we both started cracking up as we turned our attention from the screen to look over our shoulders.

There is a down tree, smack dab in the middle of the hill, it is very comfy for sitting and provides a great view all around . I shot my biggest buck ever from that spot.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Don't become a specialist, I started out as a machinist 22 years ago, after the first 5 of manual lathe and mills ,I went on to start an apprenticeship as a mold maker . I have since been employed in the auto industry as a die maker for the last 2.5 years. The time I spent as a mold maker was still the highlight of my career. You learn grinders, lathe, mill, edm, cnc, cad cam, programming. The real fun begins once you become proficient at all them . Good luck with your future endeavors.

About 12 years ago I talked to a bank about getting a loan for a piece of land ,it had a double wide and a monster sized barn . The bank didn't recognize the double wide as an actual home and said it would be viewed as vacant land ,they said I would need to come up with 20 percent down in order to get a loan.

Ah yes ,that bruised shoulder that actually stings a little bit on the surface. Love it.

It just wouldn't feel the same if I wasn't rushing around constantly thinking I forgot something.

Have you thought about a CNC training class ? Its really not hard to do ,of course there will be tricks you learn as you go but if an employer sees that you have knowledge of machining and have already taken a CNC course ,that will be enough to bring you in and train you further . Some employers like a clean slate ,ive talked to a few employers who hate hiring guys that are set in their ways and refuse to change to meet the companies already in place structure. This area isnt really known for paying top dollar for machinist , from the people i know , the area average is in the low 20/hour.

My archery season is officially done ! Now I can strip this impulse 31 and get it out of my life for ever ! Anyone got a synergy for sale? -
We'll for me personally, I tried using those white hot pellets at first ,after 3 shots I had to push a brush just to get the bullet to the bottom. Super dirty which also led to inconsistent shots . With the BH ,it is super clean ,I push a brush every 6 shots just because ,I've noticed it to be very clean and consistant. But honestly I only used one kind of pellet before making the switch.

I love my CVA ,sometimes I take it out instead of the browning. The only difference is i can see in the breech plugs with mine for black horn is a counter bore on the powder side which reduces the length of the flame channel. If you know any machinists (and I'm pretty sure you do) it could be done . I wasn't sure on the added breech pressure for that gun.

I'll have my smooth bore BPS with 2 3/4 ,1 oz. Sluggers . Next year though ,I'm taking the Henry 30 30 that I'll be acquiring over this winter.

Low and slow ,you want to break up the fibers in the paper to allow the seasonings to soak in. I'll demonstrate with mine a day posted a video. -
I had one ladder stand that was getting tons of activity ,the neighbor did a bunch of clearing and the pattern changed for the worse. No it just sits ,mostly unused.
-
Ladder stand won't work in this situation the ladder stand would be too high and not deep enough to get inside the tree. I'm sure I'll just go the portable route .

The 2 inch and 6 inch dimensions should be flip flopped in the drawing.

I accidently clicked quote instead of like so now I'm stuck quoting your post . If I had more time I would love to build a platform in there and be nice and wide . I drew up a quick sketch of my idea that I know would work to eliminate movement from the wind ,it really comes down to not taking up a bunch of time to do it. Hillbillies every where with hammers and scrap wood would be shaking their heads at me .
-
Thanks for all the advice so far everyone , I have a design in mind now that will take the wind out of the equation , after reading the above posts ,it seems like it would be my only option if choose to put a stand in that location and use all 3 limbs . The amount of time it would take to build and hang slip brackets for a 2x6s Vs. just putting a hang on stand is huge , free time is rare these days with the little one so i think the logical choice is a simple hang on stand . I'm sure glad i asked you guys before i built anything . Thanks again.
