Registering Snowmobile this year?
Jeremy K replied to Jaeger's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
Ya, technically you could ride a snowmobile to Michigan if you didn't run out of fuel , its those pesky trees that take all the fun out of water skipping. -
Registering Snowmobile this year?
Jeremy K replied to Jaeger's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
I have mine on the lift in the garage to get the shocks redone and try a diffrent clutch kit and some new jetting but i see this year is gonna be a flop. It will take so much just to get the ground to freeze and then it needs to snow ,trails will just be a sloppy muddy mess this year.I'm gonna pass on registration until the weather drastically changes. -
I told the wife I was just glad she made it through hunting season without going in to labor.

My wife is due the 25th ,she normally does a ton of baking for christmas, this year she decided to let someone else do it.

Woah! Take a chill pill ,I just don't like mysteries. Stop feeling attacked all the time.

Instead of 3 dots after neighbor ,why not just write out the word neighbor, does every topic have to be a mystery?

So may be over thinking but gonna ask.

You would have to know the thermal properties of the barrel as well as the round ,if you are using a sabot ,that would make a difference as well. I changed some guide pins in a die last week that had to be frozen in liquid nitrogen before installing,I'm guessing once it heated back up it was probably at least a .003 interference. -
Mechanical blades are legal if the blades DO NOT form a barb or hook when the arrow is pulled from the flesh of a deer or bear. I can't seem to find a barb or hook.

The lease holder has to submit a detailed plan on how he plans to manage the property to a government official. Most people have already figured out that government officials are idiots with little brains that lied or kissed ass to get where they are. They have no business running the hunting in any country or state.

So true , i can't even tell you guys how absolutely sick to my stomach i was after that day , i lost sleep for days reliving the moment i released on him just saying over and over again to aim a couple inches higher, the highlight of my season was seeing him on the trail camera again and not even being able to see where the arrow hit.

Horrible, 3 blade rage ,never again. This big boy is thankful though. I haven't told anyone except for my dad who helped me track the 200 yard blood trail til it dried up. I hit him at 7:30 in the first days of archery, walked straight lines for hundreds of yards the rest of the day from the last blood spot ,we ended up getting pics of him on the trail camera a few weeks later which really set me at ease. It must have been a solid shoulder ball hit because it only entered the depth of the broadhead. Sick to my stomach for weeks until we saw him again perfectly fine.

My wife hangs ornaments from the antlers ,not this year though.

NY is #1 Worst State to Hunt Whitetails
Jeremy K replied to Renegade Hunter's topic in General Hunting
We certainly don't need NYS government running the show when it comes to hunting ,they have proven time and time again that everything they get involved with turns into a cluster of junk. It should be dictated by each and every sportsman who pays to hunt and does their part ,the TV shows have mucked up the waters for what hunting started out as. -

What about the people who do not hunt so they have something to brag to their friends about? Of course seeing and taking a big buck are great but why manipulate the seasons to facilitate the ones that only care about how big of a buck they can shoot . The amount of large bucks in NYS i feel is enough to really appreciate the times when you do get one . The mindset where everyone deserves a trophy for participation is a big reason this country is headed in the direction that it is. -
Just had a deer try the ol stay put while we walk by on saturday. Lucky for her we had no doe tags ,she just stood off the trail in the thick stuff 15 yards in watching us ,same deal too, just keep walking and let them think you don't see them.

I just like the thought of doing all the steps from scouting to processing,in do time I will take the last step,I'm sure you and the others will have plenty of tips for the rookies.

I'm not set up at all to do my own, by the time I get set up and work and clean up I could have worked overtime at work and still come out way ahead of the 70 to do it myself.

It's not the amount of meat I got back,I'm very happy about that ,my father in law paid the same price as me and everything came back vacuum sealed and not dripping in blood from a diffrent place.
-
I think the warmer Temps have allowed the deer to find food in areas that normally wouldn't this time of year, also this late in the season with more food options available, they can stick to the areas they don't feel as pressured, basically they have more spots to hide that still allow them to feed . Purely this is only my opinion.

I'll be looking for a new processor next year. I was less then impressed when i picked up 40 pounds of meat packaged in blood soaked butcher paper. Everything was dripping in blood when i took it out of the bag.

80 yards is nothing when tracking a deer . I still say the best method is to leave a toilet paper square on each blood spot ,from the last spot you can walk straight line in increments of 10 or 15 degrees of the direction the deer was clearly traveling by seeing the line of toilet paper , really no excuse to lose such a nice deer if he was withing 80 yards. A side note ,what kind of lazy sack of crap just cuts the skull plate off such a monster like that.
