Don't get to hung up on all of the hype of the hyperbows , my dad has probably shot over 20 deer with his old 4 cam jennings . Nothing makes you a better , smarter hunter than hunting archery.

O ya , thats a huge part to leave out , Im thinking of spending around 200ish on a scope , plus or minus alittle if i have to.

I just bought a 30-06 barrel for my CVA apex , i was wondering what are some scopes to look into , My main reason for the new barrel is to spend some time at the range , i was thinking of getting some longer shots going , somewhere around 200-300 yards , i may end up hunting with it ,at least to get one deer with it . We used the clicker when we started training, i think it really helped get the dogs attention which is 90 percent of the battle. I put his food down a couple weeks ago and forgot to release him to eat , after 15 minutes in the garage i came back in to a hungry pup with about a foot of drool coming from both sides of his mouth staring at his food dish.

I can't believe so many people waited for this to happen to stock up on ammo . As soon as i heard the the govt was stock piling ammo for the border patrol i knew something big was in the works , all they needed was an excuse to start pulling their BS .

I got this guy almost a year ago and thought about getting him in the fields , he is black and tan coon /beagle and some shepperd it looks like . Seems like everytime i take him the woods he runs down a rabbit or chuck and ends up catching them . I guess he will save me money on ammo.

This thread reminded of a story my dad told me about him trying a new broadhead about 25 years ago , he pulled the cardboard layered target out of the barn and let go a monster 2 blade from his jennings 4 cam , he said it took off like an airplane over the target and went through the back door of a prestine 40 ford delivery van being stored in the barn . Good times

My BPS has a dull finish that surface rusts if i dont mantain it , i usually give it a finish wipe with kroil on a patch.

For me as of right now , the switch has slowed down my arrow and increased my grouping , now is the the time to play though . If all else fails i just go back to my proven setup tha t has been working. I like messing around with my set up because it gives my dad and i time to do something we are both into together , just like when i started hunting over 20 years ago , one of the few things we still share in common.

I mentioned to my dad i was thinking of switching and he had a 3 pack of the lumenoks i could try . I noticed a change in arrow speed just from a shooters stand point , before the change i could never watch the arrow fly even if i wanted to ,by the time my eye could change focus from site through to target the arrow had already made impact , now i can release and refocus on the arrow while in flight (possibly because of the light) i told my dad to come out and watch and we were both amazed with how much the ass end of the arrow was moving around in flight , its not an issue with stand nocks . I just had a new string and the cams timed and when i picked it up we shot the paper and confirmed it was good there so now i dont know what to try.

I see a mostly white doe roaming the train yard just south of walden ave from the 90 quite often.
