A quick version of my hunt......around 9:20am Saturday morning I had a small 8pt buck come from the south, slowly feeding in the pines. A few minutes later something told me to look behind me, sure enough here is another deer and it's a bigger buck. The two bucks are on a collision course! My buck is maybe 40 yards from the other buck and I don't believe they've seen each other yet......my buck paws a scrape three or four times. The 8pt snaps his head up and laid his ears flat back! He advances towards my buck and my buck goes completely on defense; hair stands up on his back, ears FLAT back and his body all stiffed out, like a Battle Royal is going down! They walk towards each other and when they get about 5-8 yards apart they start to parallel each other and head towards my stand. Neither one would give the other eye contact.... I drew my bow when my buck was about 10 yards and coming straight to me. He turned to my right to face off with the other buck. At full draw I had to lower my bow arm as I have a dead tree in front of my stand that wouldn't allow me to swing to him, then, after that he was very close at about 7-8 yards I think my left eye took over and I saw the pin on him and punched the trigger BEFORE I centered the pin in my peep? I'm sick about that and need professional help. Seriously...... The shot was too far back and low. He ran about 40-50 yards and stood looking back at me. I figured he was going to die a slow death and I may not find him so I better at least try and get another arrow in him. I took a Texas heart shot and heard a loud CRACK. I backed out and felt sick..... Fast forward 5.5 hours; I get on the track fast, find decent blood, track him 75 yards very fast and find my 2nd arrow. 50 yards later I see him and he sees me, jumps and stumbles 30 yards to a small gully, goes down and can only go half way up before stopping. I was shaking like a leaf and promptly missed him broadside at 30 yards with two arrows and hit him high with a third. He went down and died but it took a bit of time. I went back to the truck and got my camera and came back and field dressed him. Then I went back to the house and grabbed the four wheeler and got him out but it was a struggle. Weighed him at 205lbs but during the middle of the night while laying in bed I remembered I left the heart and lungs in him! So I'll say he weighed 195lbs to satisfy any questions! I'm late for work now but here's a picture or two......

I just got back from dropping mine off at the taxidermist.....He's going to cape it out tonight and save the lower jaw for me. I'll pick up the horns and jaw so they are in my possession. A few of my friends want to see the rack as soon as possible so I might as well hang onto them until ready to be mounted. -

Not live from the woods but it’s the first free minute I’ve had....I made a poor shot on a bruiser around 9:25 yesterday morning. I left him go till 3pm then went and found him. I’ll type up all the details later on when I can use my computer and not the phone. He could be my best buck ever.....dressed at 205lbs but last night laying in bed I remembered that after I got the stomach and lower parts out I forgot (my mind was on how in the heck I was going to get him out in daylight) to pull the heart and lungs.- 8220 replies

First off, congratulations Tim. In my eyes, the buck is a beauty but the best part is the PERFECT shot you made! I went over to Tim's house after he got home to help him weigh and hang the buck. I brought my camera and snapped a couple pics...... I liked this picture; the cart belongs to Marty, he hunts with Tim occasionally and fortunately was hunting close enough by to help with the deer. Marty's wife brought the cart over and that's how they got the beast out. I helped to get a buck out Marty shot a couple years ago with this same cart and it works great. Once again it's purchase paid off in spades.- 8220 replies

https://buffalo.craigslist.org/spo/d/medaille-college-hooded-sweat-shirt-xxl/7213655486.html This has been on our local Craigslist for well over a year. The starting price was much higher IIRC, like MAYBE $10. It's starting to get in my price range and I'd give 'em $2 cash money, if it fit and didn't smell like skank.

It surely doesn't count but I ALMOST got one with the work van this morning on Dann Rd.........she was running down the middle of the road and that's not a common thing to see. I was scanning the edges of the road and grassy areas for deer waiting to jump out in front of me and all of a sudden, here she is, running right down the center line! I jumped on the binders pretty good and she veered off to the woods. -
I'm sure not everyone spotted this hot story on the first go-round. I did, hence the sharp comical one liner............ And no, I wasn't fooled i n the first post on it. I've butchered a couple deer and know what's going on under all that hide. Ain't no way no how any deer (or any critter for that matter) is going to be tooling around missing that amount of parts.

I dread the day after Halloween. My will power is nonexistent....... -
110%...........I hated the damn things. LOL I'm going to guess that I haven't fired a slug (at a deer) in 15 years and hope I never do. Oh, I still have my scoped Ithaca DSII 12ga gun and enough slugs to last a few years but doubt I'll ever shoot it again. I say that but heck, if I fell into a primo spot in Erie County and inclement weather was looming and I was afraid the ML'r wouldn't fire, I'd (gulp) take Ol Bess.

I don’t understand why people go through the effort to create video or still pics like this?

I experienced that same rain this morning in 8N.......The radar was clean as a whistle and I couldn't believe it when I opened the Bilco door and was promptly getting wet. It quit around 7:10am and that was that. -

LOL, I glance at it but not too often when hunting. I do partake in a group chat with like-minded lugnuts. The size of the font for the forum is smaller than the GC so I don't (not yet anyway) need my cheaters for the GC. (I know you can change it but.......) -
Rechargeable Hand Warmers
Lawdwaz replied to Fletch's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I'm not proud, I had toe warmers last weekend one morning. Semi Pro tip: expiration dates on the packages are real. Those toe warmers were ineffective, same as the hand warmers I tried today. Both expired in March 2019 -
I’m sure those will be giving you years of good service. I’ve had and used the heck out of King Of The Mountain hooded sweatshirt and Bunwarmer pants for almost 30 years. The pants have shrunk (crazy I know) and I just sourced a like new used pair off ebay for a song. My wife hemmed them so I should be good to go for another 30 years. Enjoy your new Woolies in good health.....
