  1. Yes, you are correct. I switched it already as it looked weird.....
  2. Thanks for the try Dom but you're out to lunch on that. The rust was caused by the previous owners neglect in leaving the gun in a gun rack (with the trigger guard up if you've ever seen a gun hung like that) and some rain water leaked onto it. I saw the gun rack/roof issue when I got the gun from an old timer in Lyndonville NY on a horse trade......about 25 years ago. I know all about oil from skin etc but amazingly have never had an issue with any of my guns. I do keep a couple silicone rags handy and wipe my guns down frequently after fondling.
  3. We didn't turn on the furnace yet.......it really wasn't bad inside. I though maybe but nope.
  4. Yup, no shorts this morning for me either, light flannel sweats for 'moi.........
  5. Not sure how accurate it is but I’ll take it!!
  6. My buddy Dave climbed a tree with his climbing stand one time and got set up. It was just breaking dawn and all of a sudden something lands on his shoulder! He took a swing at it not knowing WHAT IN THE *UCK it was. He connected and the thing fell to the ground. Yup, a flying squirrel. He'd (nor I) had ever seen one before or after that event. Weird little buggers....
  7. Yea, he's on the "board" for the season!!!!
  8. Sounds like some fun times this morning Jay.........glad it ended with not much carnage! Back in the spring, we were doing a job at a local church. An entry door was stopped open and a chipmunk got in at some point. I was going through checking on the guys and spotted the little bastid running down a HUGE hallway.........I took off chasing him, hoping he wouldn't get into the sanctuary where they had choir practice going on. I grabbed out painter and recruited him to join in on the fun. We messed around for 20 minutes trying to figure out what to do as we weren't going to out run or out maneuver him!! I went to Gui's Lumber and got some rat traps after we finally cornered him in an office. We pulled the office door shut but by the time I got back somebody opened the door and flushed him out. I just shrugged my shoulders and said NOW WTH am I going to do?? Then the maintenance man showed up in the building, I told him what was going on and he said "ahh heck, don't worry about it. It happens all the time". If they don't make it out alive, it'll stink for a bit after they croak. I've had plenty of experience sniffing out dead critter in a previous life.........although I consider myself good at it, I'm out of that business.
  9. The grass (?) he planted on the logging roads at my buddies came in unreal. The deer love it.....
  10. For those without a clue to this reference from THE real TC III.............
  11. My broadhead target is still at the Academy, just south of the tree stand behind those logs. If the arrow is sticking out both sides of the target after you shoot, unscrew the braodhead and yank it out backwards. If the vanes are buried in the foam, just pull it straight through.
  12. Yes, the crossed feathers are cool................ Well done again!
  13. Here are more pictures......... And a couple more shots of the damaged area on the underside of the barrel.....
  14. The pics above show the gun with a scope that isn't included in the sale. I found and mounted the rear sight with ramp (is that ramp backwards?) and took off the scope. The rings and bases go with the gun....... $550 local for HNY members (I thought this was sold local but the deal didn't go through)
  15. Remington 722 .257 Roberts with a Leupold 2x7 varix II (I think but I'll check later, it's back in safe now) I got the gun second hand many years ago. The former owner hardly ever used it but it did receive some rust damage to the bottom of the barrel, I hit it with a fine steel wool and then dabbed on some cold bluing years ago and although it isn't pristine in that area, it still looks just fine. The rest of the gun is in very nice condition and was very accurate when I shot it over the years. I never hunted it although my son killed a doe with it in PA on a youth hunt 12 or so years ago. I have some old reloading dies and possibly some ammo for the deal too. $700 local, $720 shipped. If you don't want the scope, deduct $100........(and the scope isn't for sale alone)
  16. Don't know on the weight but IT (could be a "she") is big!
  17. That said, I've lit farts in the past.
  18. Apparently I've lead a boring life as I've never done a flaming shot. Never have, never will............
  19. Yea that could be possible, hopefully!! I dislocated mine in high school pretty bad...........they took me to the hospital and knocked me out for quite awhile to jimmy it back in place. It hurt like a SOB for weeks and had to be in a sling thing for about six weeks. For 20 years it really wasn't ever the same. Today it's a trouble spot in that it's never been as strong as it should be. In 2011 I had four MRI's to find out WTH was going on as I had all kinds of issues with numbness and severe pain. That turned out to be nerve damage from work and there was nothing they could do. The Dr said after seeing the MRI's that I should be very careful in the future 'cause things were a mess in there.
  20. Your screwed, blued and tattooed for this year. IMO
  21. I listened to about five minutes of the game WGR 550........Rick Jeanertte is STILL calling games!!! He is amazing........ (butchered the spelling I’m sure)
