You'd think that after 26+ years of marriage that my wife would know. So on Sunday when I loaded my doe into the p/u I got a ton of blood on my camo pants. She saw that my white long johns were covered in blood so hence my pants were too. Good observation honey. So she soaks the long johns in cold water and the camo pants too. I don't know how she did the LJ's but I have a hunch now after I found the camo pants in the dryer with a bunch of everyday work clothes. As I cringed and pulled them out I found IT.........DRYER SHEETS!!! Gawd do I despise them, they stink like ass if you ask me. So now my camo pants are blowing around the yard in 32mpw winds, IDGAF. The yard is fenced, they won't get out. In a day or three I'll retrieve them and they'll be GTG. You'd think she knew...........

No kidding Dom.......I have a new front door sitting in my garage. My boss is going to help with the install, at this point we'll probably do it the first or second week of November......THE RUT!! Only obviously he's not a hunter and hence could GAF.

The deer don’t really care that much about these temperatures, it’s a perceived notion that they will move more and be all frisky if it gets colder. Bunk...... The RUT is what increases activity. These temps make the hunters happier.......- 10374 replies

Hmm I’d think you’d have some bear action around. How about coyotes this year? We have (you know where I hunt) a pile of them around....... I even saw one at 3:00pm loping through a hay field Sunday. That’s not common.

I used to make a killer liver & onions meal once each fall. Fried potatoes, bacon, then liver & onions all from the same cast iron skillet. Some fine fine eating but it'd put me in a world of hurt these days with a monkeyed up stomach and all...... Like cigars, a thing of the past for me.

95% of the time its hang on Screaming Eagle's. During gun I'll hunt ladder stands and climber, a box blind during gun in BAD conditions. I've never once hunted out of a ground blind for anything.

One more (sorry for all the single posts, I'm tired) thing for now........ Before you hit the woods, make sure (DAMN SURE) you practice with it in a local woodlot, with permission of course. Take a friend with you in case you have a hitch. Also, climb up just 5-7 feet high and get yourself seated. Now go ahead and deliberately make the bottom half of the stand disengage from the tree and fall to the end of the connected line. That will show you what and how it can happen and the sequences to get the base re-configured. Good luck and be safe!!

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but some kind of bow holder is a good idea......I like the Realtree brand. The 13" model is what I like and use......... https://www.realtree.com/camo-products/realtree-improves-ez-hangers-expands-ez-product-line

Make sure that when your bow is tied off to your haul line that the slack cord laying on the ground doesn't get hung up on some PIA underbrush/brambles etc. OR.....your quiver gets caught on something while getting yanked up and BAM, it becomes detached from your bow. Tons of suck-age occurs when you have to climb back down, straighten out your gear then climb back up!!

I didn't bring any gloves and wished I did yesterday morning......that cold rain after almost 2.5 hrs had me chilled to da' bone.

I just bumped up the Harvest Thread........... Saw three bucks and an unknown Saturday and two hen turkey, that was a great day. This morning this doe came in quiet, she had a good size fawn with her. I grabbed my bow and didn't want to risk standing up so shot from the sitting position, glad I practiced it religiously at the Academy late this summer. I have much respect for my professors......... The best parts are she's a mature doe and I made a perfect shot; that doesn't always happen.- 10374 replies

I got a nice doe this morning; about a 20 yard shot. This is only my second deer with the Rage, I'm almost speechless.......almost. She only went about 50 yards before piling up.

I'm packing up the gear for some hunts this weekend with that nagging doubt that I'm forgetting something......... Who among us forgot something on their first hunt (shake down cruise) of the season ??

Oh yea, my uncle had one of those propane fridges for a number of years before getting electric at the cabin in Naples, it worked great and he sold it for more than he paid.
