  1. Nice .....rob. Too bad you didn’t post this around 6-6:30 tonight, I’d have cracked a (another) beer to you and yours.
  2. I got the package today, thank you to you and Moog.
  3. I don't recall if there was a smell. Probably was?? IIRC it was a cold morning........that could keep the smell at bay.
  4. Oh, as far as crabs go, I used to get them at "Big Catch" on Niagara Street but I heard they went tits up??
  5. It's been a couple years for me but I used to do good on the drift from in front of Harry's straight towards Strawberry Island. It didn't matter if I drifted to the east or west side of the island, I'd catch smallmouth. I liked soft shell crabs or bass chubs, so did the fish. I had Pygmy and Dinsdale out and I believe we did good each time. Pygmy has a secret jig that is a KILLER, truth! He could get a smallmouth out of a bathtub if....oh wait, that's exactly what he'd want. Mmmm fishy!! Maybe if I get my mojo back next year we can go out Kevin. I haven't had the desire for some reason this summer..........
  6. Am I the only one who takes pictures? Two years ago on the last day (IIRC) of ML'r season I watched a buck for quite awhile before killing him. The reason I watched him was he was on the wrong side of the "line", meaning he wasn't on the small piece of ground I had permission to hunt. As I watched him I noticed he was acting different. He kept trying to itch the back of his neck on branches and brush........ He finally came to where I could shoot and I killed him. I gutted him and dragged him towards a the trail back up to my truck, eased with a nice skiff of snow. At one point I looked at the back of his neck and some funky stuff; green & cheesy! I made some phone calls and couldn't get any answers so eventually ended up taking him to a butcher and donating the meat ONLY after the butcher assured me the meat was fine. (some of you will probably remember this)
  7. I read about it last night on the 'campfire and then on bowsite........certainly terrible news. Some difficult times ahead for his family, friends and business associates. I only have one piece (IIRC) of KUIU gear right now, his Yukon gaiters. Excellent quality and effective. I'll think of Jason each time I strap them on, RIP.
  8. Are your clients members here?
  9. You’d miss your daily yank on the train........
  10. That stanky breast (one side, the other is great) is still in the ice box. I should chuck it but I haven’t yet. Maybe he was blind, hence I could kill him?!?!?!
  11. You think all the marketing Rage does comes cheap? They probably spend more on advertising than they do producing their heads........
  12. Those recurve limbs are LONG!!
  13. That's a very nice looking rifle..... So yes, depending on the scope the OP could be have a decent deal at $700 or a bit less.
  14. The SPS guns today are nothing like an old BDL......I’ll take an old one any day over them. A CDL is a nice Gun but more money and maybe not as nice a Gun. Tikka are great guns too but some don’t like/want a detachable magazine.
  15. That'd be my thought too. Somebody trying to poison coyotes??
  16. Without seeing it, it sounds like a fine deal. The scope could be junk, so what? If you can get the seller to knock $50 off it'd be an even better deal...........I've had one LH.270 BDL and I sold it back around 1994 to fund a LH KS .280.......two guns I wish I still had!
  17. Or look at it from my prospective: it buys me more time in the saddle as killing them from the truck/gin mill/greasy spoon/couch isn't as productive.
  18. I have to admit, I'm not sure WTF? Are the guys all mannequins?
  19. Before: (I guess I'm big on before and after pics this weekend?) And after: The "stump" didn't come out as planned. I tried to get it in one big group but the Tacoma fagged out and I didn't want to needlessly monkey something up. I then wrapped the chain around individual chunks and got it in three bites. Unfortunately all the root structure didn't come out and I'll have some real fun getting it all out. I bet I'll have another 4-6 hours into finishing it up but it won't happen for a week or so when this BS humidity is history. It took about an hour and 15 minutes to get it to this point. We took it to my friends property on Campbell Blvd and tossed it in his woods. Then a quick trip over to South Transit Family Restaurant for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. Showered up and heading to check out some new boob tubes........
  20. Man I feel your pain........try and relax, before you know it you'll be home and it'll be DONE. Good luck and that is sincere as can be.
  21. Trust me, it’s dangerously hot outside. Don’t do it....... We got the arborvitae cut and out also a small bush pretty quick but I didn’t feel good afterwards. It only took about 90 minutes but between the houses and in the sun it was brutal. Long pants and leather gloves....... Stay cool my friend, drink a beer and chill out.
  22. I forgot about "back to school"..............not an issue for us anymore, daughter is a senior at UB and is self sufficient for the most part. Time to go hit the bush; I just watched the end of the (DVR'd) Southern 500 from last night. Back in a bit................
  23. Not much for us at this point.......Pretty sure we are going to remove a big arborvitae (I think that's what it is?) that my old neighbor planted 10 years ago on the property line! I mean RIGHT in the middle. We let it go then and then they moved and the new owners don't want to maintain it and neither do we. I asked him if it'd be ok if we got rid of the entire mess and he said fine. Then maybe later if we have any steam left we might go shopping for a new TV............or maybe not. Pretty hot & humid so hopefully we can make quick work of the landscaping. How 'bouts you guys & gals, what's on tap for today??
