They have a new invention for turkey hunters; it's called a vest. They work amazingly well for keeping all your accoutrements in one place so you don't have any excuses......... BTW, I didn't have a pen in my vest yesterday. I think I had everything else in there though.

I'll cut the spurs off the legs and drill the marrow out, then put them on a piece of string with the other spurs I've kept. The beards get salted then after dried out enough I wrap the top 1/2" with a thread to keep it all in tight. No big deal, just like keeping deer horns...........

Before I dressed the bird I killed this morning I pulled the beard and legs for me, wing feathers for Dino Rocks (a member here and best bud of Turkeyfeathers), he'll use them for fletching his arrows. The tail feathers will go to my friend the landowner as he requested them. Wing bones are of no use to me, I don't make wing bone calls or know anyone that does. Other than those "parts", what would you save and how would you use it?

Easily the least days I've hunted since 1982.......I'll hunt Arcade in the morning for only the second time this spring. Just don't have the fire in the belly....we'll see what tomorrow brings. Tomorrow night wifey and I are meeting up with three other couples for dinner. Not just any three couples; all three of the guys are 40+ year friends. One guy, Jack, has been a buddy since 1968. Love them all like brothers and their wives are the best too, all 25-30 year marriages. Depending on how things go at dinner, maybe I'll hunt Sunday too but no worries. I've been blessed to kill more than my fair share of spring gobblers in my not so humble opinion. Enough of the booze talking; I'm gonna slam one at 5:30am tomorrow and notch the damned tag, PDQ.

OK guys & gals............Long story short, our 17 year old washing machine is toast. Somehow at the same time the laundry tubs got plugged the washing machine (in the middle of a load) decided to quit. I'm not sure if the plugged drain has anything to do with the washing machine but either way, the sink is clear and the WM is junk. So I drained the WM and pulled the hoses off. As I pulled them off, I noticed some white "chips" in the end of the hose then a shiit load in the screened inlets of both the hot & cold sides. Turns out they aren't all white, they almost look like big sand particles?? Years ago we had a hot water tank that had a "dip tube" inside that failed and white plastic particles came out of the tank and clogged our sink strainers. I never knew that the washing machine had strainers............. I replaced the hot water tank a few years ago so all this crud should be old news?? It's a wonder ANY water got through the strainers. Also, the galvanized water lines were replaced with copper (all but the pipes going to the second floor) a couple years ago. Any ideas other than the dip tube and galvanized pipe issues what may have caused this??? Thanks for your thoughts......

Yes, it looks like just one more day for me after seeing the weather forecast. Saturday should be a no brainer but Sunday & Monday are shaky........
