  1. I got a new roof last week.......it can rain now.
  2. Thanks Jay but that's a bit too short.
  3. LOL..........Oh my, that's gonna hurt!
  4. Cool.......I'm sure plenty of the guys here can give you tips to shorten the learning curve!
  5. Any of the local guys here (Northern Erie County or Niagara County) or even between here and Honeoye Lake have a cardboard bow box? You know, the ones the bows come in from the manufacturer when new. I need to ship my Elite and the bow will be returned so I'd be happy to return the box when I'm done with it. This is kind of an odd request but maybe somebody has just bought a bow and has the box sitting in the garage/basement/shed/attic/spare bedroom etc.

Yea, you're correct. I guess he's too big for Darien Lake!! Hell, Mickey Golley didn't have a full house at the Riviera.
  7. Pretty rough outside for an (almost) 13 year old BLACK lab especially if it's sunny! She gets soooo hot I think she's going to spontaneous com-bust. Thursday & Friday we had a new roof put on the house and I think the dog got their leftover lunches. She's puked and left an ungodly pile of stool out in the yard yesterday. Damn labs are like disposals...............

Where was the concert? I was thinking Darien Lake but you don't need to fly home from there!
  9. Good deal........sounds like you'll have a friend AND be able to secure permission to hunt his land.

Have fun Red! Wednesday night I took my wife to see Mickey Gilley at the Riveria Theatre in North Tonawanda. He's 80 years old and put on a HELL of a show! We went to Lebro's before the show for some chow, it was a great night!
  11. Man that's a nice setup..............if'n a guy didn't want to dick around, THERE is a package.

    Boat Question

Never owned either one but both have been around for a heck of a long time. A good friend had a 21' Chaparral that was a great boat. It even sunk in about 12' of water in Lake Erie, they had it running before the summer was done. Kids................ I'll bet Larry_302 can add to this query.
  13. Similar in that they were HUGE and had lots of stuff I lusted over. Overwhelming is a fairly good way to describe them.....................
  14. Wow that brew haha with BP and the City had just about drifted from my memory.....now it's BACK!! Thanks TC...
  15. I saw my first Cabela's in......IIRC 1989. Another thing I'm not sure of is, was it Kearney or Sidney, Nebraska? One thing I'm sure of is my mind ain't what it was. I do recall that when my buddy Tom and I stepped into the place we just about fell over from the shear size of the joint. MY goodness it was incredible. Since then I think the only other stores of theirs I've been to our Hamburg PA and of course Cheektowaga. Probably been to three or four Bass Pro Stores and one Sportsman's Warehouse. Ho Humm...................
  16. I recommended the 260 as an upward move to the 243 for a recoil sensitive (possibly) lady. But to your question............ 6.5mm bullets are nothing to sneeze at.......I'd take a s/a 260 over a l/a 25-06 all day. Lots of information out there to compare the 260 and 25-06 if you want to dig. The 260 has better BC and you can get heavier bullets if you want. Just one little link to peruse...... http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f17/25-06-vs-260-deer-82124/ Bullets available for the 6.5mm..............(twice as many as the 25 caliber and much heavier selection) https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/916 Bullets available for the 25 caliber............. https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/915? In the end, it won't really matter at all for most of us here on THIS forum. It's all just for a good time!
  17. Look into a 260 Remington also......another great s/a cartridge.
  18. I'd be calling that dinner. Toss the bass back and run with the perch and bluegill. Nice going Jay. Live bait? Don't worry, I won't say a thing to your brother the King of fly fishing.
  19. Do you have a link to this? I never fished the canal but sure do appreciate the historical significance and beauty of it.
  20. Nice job on the video. I've been a user of Barnes X, TSX and TTSX bullets in my CF hunting rifles for many years. Not exclusively but quite often. I didn't choose to use solid copper bullets to benefit the OTHER critters that may be feeding on gut piles sprinkled with lead fragments, it's just a great extra benefit to using the monolithic bullets.
