  1. Split pea soup, homemade! I just finished a double batch, loaded with big chunks of ham. Tomorrow could be rough.....................
  2. Here, Here!! Happy Birthday Sir.......................................... Have a great day, surely it'll be a fun filled outdoorsy type day.
  3. What am I thinking? How much should we bet?
  4. Weather Underground.......WunderMap: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=42.850&lon=-77.739&zoom=13&tl.play=0&tl.spd=2&viewportstart=now-3881&viewportend=now-281&groupSevere=1&groupHurricane=1&%3BgroupFire=1&groupCamsPhotos=1&groupRealEstate=1&eyedropper=0&extremes=0&fault=0&favs=0&femaflood=0&fire=0&%3Bfirewfas=0&fissures=0&fronts=0&hurrevac=0&hur=0&%3Blabels=0&lightning=0&livesurge=0&mm=0&ndfd=0&rad=0&dir=1&dir.mode=driving&sst=0&sat=0&seismicrisk=0&svr=0&ski=0&snowfall=0&stateLines=0&stormreports=0&tor=0&tfk=0&tsunami=0&riv=0&wxsn=1&wxsn.mode=tw&wxsn.opa=50&wxsn.bcdgtemp=0&wxsn.rf=1&wxsn.showpws=1&cams=1&pix=0
  5. I like some of the lake side web cams I see through Weather Underground web site surrounding the Finger Lakes . It's fun to check out some of the cams when storms are rolling through.
  6. Man..........It's a wonder I can even kill a single deer each year. Think of what MUST get by me! I could have sworn there wasn't a size posted. Thanks Jerkman. You CAN'T beat his meat!
  7. The answer to overpopulation is the crossbow? OK...........................................
  8. Easier to get to than a gun in a night stand. When I owned my business the only way I could properly conceal was with a ankle holster. Nothing else worked in my line of work. For many years the ankle holster was my go-to method for carrying in Pennsylvania while turkey hunting. We camped out and always slept better with a snub nose for comfort. When we left the truck to hunt, it was the way I choose to carry. Many times I'd forget it was there and cross a creek or two during the day, resulting in a poly wog or two in the barrel. I also used a shoulder holster but it shrunk........................................... These days, my snubbies go in a pocket; sometimes holstered, sometimes not. For my Shield I use a Ritchie CQ-QR............ http://www.ritchieholsters.com/catalog/p-100009/close-quarter-quick-release-cq-qr I like it a ton. My kel Tec P32 is either in a DeSantis pocket holster or just in the pocket.
  9. I just checked the long range for Hemlock..............a low of 19 next Sunday night. Is that considered a freeze?
  10. Mast crop and apples will surely take a hit with this weather.............................the deer hunters are getting boned again.
  11. Yea, I have a bunch of those odd ball loads that have no more markings. 3" and 3.5", some of each................I have some old black 3.5" Winchester loads that really were lousy in my gun, I probably got them in 2000 when I got the gun. Them, among others would probably be a hoot on clay birds........!!
  12. I thought about hard boiling some eggs today as I LOVE egg salad sammies but then I found out my sister is bringing (among others tasty treats) deviled eggs tomorrow for Easter dinner. Good thing I didn't, I'd be OD'ing withing 36 hours......................... Nice job on the egg decorating guys, keep the tradition going!
  13. I could see you yanking the trigger with a 3.5" load and then you spinning around like a pin wheel. Lean into it or put some meat on those bones!
  14. 40-45 is a long poke for me and I don't plan on stretching it out any further. THAT said...........when I'm all hunched up, camo mask messing with my vision, mosquitoes/black flies/no-seeums etc dive bombing me and a big 'Ol Gobbler gobbling his fool onions off sometimes I have a hard time judging distance. That's the time when I could use a little extra gas in the tank....... And THAT said............my other "issue" is when a bird comes in close, I sometimes lift my head and a super tight pattern can go whizzing right over their little white golf ball sized noggin. Patterns a little looser at 50 yards are OK as long as I can get a handful of hard hitting pellets in the head or neck. If I can bust a wing in the process, all the better. I'd try (while swimming up stream) my modified choke first. The Remington Heavy Shot (I think that's what it was called?) is what I've been using for 5-6 years and they've worked super when I did my part. IIRC two years ago I flubbed two absolute freaking gimme's because I peaked. (Dan, I think that PM I sent you last week referred to that fiasco?) Man was I talking to myself then....
  15. Almost all of them look good in pictures. How do they look in person, would somebody pay for it? Are you doing this for hire? They look darn nice...........................
  16. I bet that title had you pondering, WTH is he doing now? After a little 1/2 bath remodeling work (don't ask as you've already heard about my handy work) that still isn't complete and Easter dinner here for 12, things needed wiping down. Usually I'll vacuum off the taxidermy mounts then wipe them with a damp cloth but my time allotment for that work was chewed up by a visit with a new barber......sooooo, I grabbed a damp cloth and just wiped down the horns, antlers, eye balls hair and feathers. They look so much better with the cob webs off them and dust off their eyes! Amazing how dusty they can get!!
  17. "I see said the blind man" Sometimes the simplest things get by me, sometimes it ALL gets by me. OK, like the old Remington Duplex loads? I shot them for a couple years but that was probably 25 years ago. Lets see what others are using but these sound like a pretty good option.
  18. This be them? https://www.midwayusa.com/product/767784/hevi-shot-magnum-blend-turkey-ammunition-12-gauge-3-1-2-2-1-4-oz-5-6-and-7-hevi-shot-high-velocity-non-toxic-box-of-5 What size shot are you using? 7's wouldn't scare my but I'd probably roll the 6's............................ What choke?
  19. OK boys & girls, I'm low/out of ammo for my turkey gun. I'm shooting a Benelli SBE with 3.5" chamber. Since I can, I will shoot those Roman Candles. Give me some thoughts/ideas on what you're using and why. Keep in mind, I don't have ton of ambition anymore to be buying 4-5 types of loads and patterning them. I used to really enjoy it but my interest is waning.................I'd like to be one & done but will consider a couple different loads to try. My choke choices are limited to factory full & modified. Currently I'm using modified because I got my best pattern with it. Thanks for the opinions.
  20. RIP Hummer. Condolences to all................
  21. Where you been, jail? Nice to see you round kid!
  22. A gentle west/southwest should tell me all I know when dinner time approaches.
  23. Well then who in the hell was the imposter that met me for chicken wings and what would a chick like you want with climbing sticks?
