I never owned a semi auto centerfire, YET! Although, I did own a Amish Machine Gun for a few years. I think it was my 2nd CF rifle. 1st was a Savage 110 then I got the Remington 760 .308Win in a LH configuration. (just the stock & safety were LH, factory issue) As far as semi auto shotguns, I never owned one until I was an old man. 38 yrs old. <grin> I got the Benelli SBE in '99 and then the 20ga Montefeltro a year later. Why did I wait so long? I've put thousands of rounds down the tube on the 870's and 37's and killed toooooo many deer with them but they don't get much action anymore. Both of those models are bullet proof......... Carry on fellas!!

I got a call & text photo of an adult gobbler my buddy shot TONIGHT!! Killed him around 8:00pm. Crazy deal, birds in the field for a couple hours. He had a good idea where they would go to roost and waited on the edge of the field. Bingo, here they come, three hens flew past him then the gobblers (two) came walking by at 25 yards. The birds never made a peep. I'm not sure how much calling he did. Now he's in the bourbon.........<grin> Once again, not the way I'm looking to kill a bird but it worked for him.

That's what I figured, hence the public range I noted above. It is the ONLY public/free range in our WNY area.

Hard to give directions to it but....... Going north out of Akron on Rt 93- Find Foote Rd, off of Rt 93 (I think), take that north to Ditch Rd., go North and turn right (east) on Bartel. The "range" is on the right (south side) maybe 3/4 mile or so down. Various burms to shoot into, but I think the furthest is 135 yards. No bench provided and don't shoot off the hood of a vehicle!

Only public range is the one in the Alabama Swamps. I'll see if I can find a link. You'll need to provide your own bench or borrow one from a friend. What are you looking to shoot?

And you thought all the nut jobs were at YOUR end of the state. <grin> You know, I am going to dump the sh*t water out of my bird bath tomorrow. Maybe I should drum it off for a few days and save it for the poor fella?

On opening day of turkey season, my buddy & I stopped by one farm we hunt and were getting ready to make a call, spotted a calf laying in the pasture all alone and LOOKING very dead! The thing never moved. We went and told the farmer that he had a croaked calf and he said "naw, that one is just an odd duck" it ain't dead" O.K...................... The next day we stopped by to make another call. Here is that calf again, looking like buzard brunch....................

Congrats! Have fun and CONTINUE to save your money, you'll need it. My first ride was a '72 Chevy C10. It only took me 6 months or so to wrap it around a tree.............dumb ass.
