  1. Their looks change almosst daily. Don't give 'em a name, YET!
  2. Yes, I drank the 120gr Barnes .284 TSX Kool-Aid too Dan. Only problem is, when they were in my barrel/magazine deer didn't show up often enough! I killed a few deer in PA. with them and have absolutley no problems with them. In the past couple years I have had a bunch of PM's with Steve Timm (dogzapper) about the 120gr NBT, George Herron knives and some of his old articles in Varmint Hunter Magazine. He really sold me on trying them out of my NULA as a bonafide lightning bolt killer! So far I haven't killed anything but powder, primers, paper & time!! I could easy hunt until the end of time with those Barnes TSX or TTSX. Last fall I used a 80gr 6mm TTSX via the 243 in PA. and that killed like the above mentioned lightening bolt also.
  3. Just spotted this fresh thread on another forum. (almost as good as this place, which is my favorite) Some good gack about the 120gr Nosler BT I was mentioning above from some MUCH more experienced shooters than me! http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/6541038/1
  4. Take this to the bank. BUT............I started monkeying around with 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tips in my 7mm-08 last winter and came up with a great load. Here is a pic of 2 2/3 groups (dumb azz, I forget what I did wrong but I was one load short on that last group) I really like the chambering although the 260Rem would be a 90% answer to the 7mm-08, IMO.
  5. After gutting as much as possible, use a detergent and clean any other areas of visable mold. You can't "kill" mold, you can only control it by keeping moisture and humidity at bay. Mold goes dormant with no moisture. Don't be fooled by all the mold products........
  6. How the heck did you get them to all set in that pile for a pic?? Cool.........
  7. Good deal! Glad you sold that. If you were in my neighborhod I'd have been veryyyyyy tempted.....
  8. Lotta Greek gowing on here...................................... I have no interest or idea WTF those configurations can do other than BLAST tons of ammoooooonitionnnn!! Rock on!
  9. The path of least resistance works for lots of critters, not just us lazy sob's!
  10. Congrats and hang in, the ride could still be rough!
  11. Good luck with the PTSD. This thread can just fade away now................................................................................
  12. House warming party? I'll bring beer, venison burgers and a good sense of humor. <grin>
  13. Who else was at all those meetings asking for the Oct 1st opener? I'm sure NYB is the only reason we have it. I've been a Life Member (#11 actually) since December 21, 1994 of New York Bowhunters I joined as a yearly member in 1991. I was in early and agreed with most of what they pitched back them. Times have changed for them and me since 1991. I have considered pulling my Lifemembership at times due to their attitude on some issues such as the crossbow and youth hunt. They worked hard for many things and we have all benefited from NYB at one point or another.
  14. Never say never I guess. Freaks.................
  15. (meant for the OP, vietvet50)
  16. Cool bobat pic. What the heck is that critter in your avatar?
  17. Be careful here........My wife & I said that 21 years ago. When we remodeled the kitchen in 1994, we were picking out kitchen cabinets and the salesman said "how long do you plan on being in the house?" I said 5 years, TOPS! Well, here we are. Once you have a couple children, get them going in a great school district, the day to day, month to month and year to year time just goes by so fast. I don't know your age but I can assure you you will not believe how fast it really does go by. You got cheap money, make sure you get what you want (basement & garage/out buildings are what is important to a hunter & sportsman) within reason. If you can, take a knowledgeable friend through the house in addition to the inspector. I don't have a ton of faith in the home inspection business. YMMV...........
  18. I'm gonna' go out on a limb and say you didn't use night crawlers? Any pics? Table fare?
  19. Heard good things about Bradley Smokers. No personal experience though. I can taste test..............<grin>
  20. Congrats on getting pre apporoved for some cheap money. Great time to be buying. Staying in the area??
  21. The attraction is the OTHER side of the road. The grass is always greener...............
  22. How odd. NOW I have BBQ grill advertisments on the starboard side of my screen....................
  23. I can't help you with this. Maybe the highlighted text will get you some opinions?? Good luck!
  24. So, is the structure "free standing"? Are the 6x6's in holes?
