Nice shooting! Caliber, bullet and distance?
-
Not my style. But, others will certainly fall for it. I had a T/C Encore in a ML and thought it'd be cool to have a switch barrel deal. I never bought another pipe for it and after a couple years sold it when I got the NULA ML. It was a fine gun but I had no love for it. OP, take some pictures of the gun at the range this weekend and file a report with us including pics. Good luck & be safe!

Remote Control Planes / Cars / Trucks / Heli's any one?
Lawdwaz replied to burmjohn's topic in General Chit Chat
I hunt near a R/C plane field and it sure looks (and sounds) cool! Those babies haul AZZ! They take there sport serious too. It gets a bit annoying during archery season, they are pretty close to me but it doesn't faze the deer a bit, not surprisingly. -
I'll show you a picture of a rubber one..............................................................

Is the T/C bolt gun a switch barrel?
-
I don't know how you ever came up with that from what I posted? I was remarking about your picture, for some reason when you quote a person the picture isn't included. After a bit, you won't have enough space for all the racks and will need to keep them someplace else. I have them all over the place but most are in the garage.
-
Pretty soon you be stashing them in the garage. Gets to be too much...............................................
-
Either way, good luck and keep us posted on load development. (thats the part I enjoy!)
-
Since you do hand load, why not give the 110 or 130gr TTSX? Less recoil than a 150, more velocity and will not grenade like a cup/core or bonded bullet.

Chambering?

Someday I'd really like to hunt an aoudad sheep but probably won't be for a few years. I didn't watch your video yet but I've seen others and read about the hunts. Demanding and beautiful country! Cool animals that can take a hit. Someday...........................................

What kind of bullet was it that you killed the 6pt with? Pretty good velocity diference between a 270WSM & a 270 Win, I'd consider a Barnes bullet............ http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/74407-1.html THAT load will stay together in the boiler room! At the distance you shot that deer, plenty of bullets would have grenaded like that. The Barnes won't.

Very common. Most people never hang them on a scale. Other times, people qoute you a weight and tell you oh, thats with the guts in. Who in the hell drags a deer anyplace with the guts in them? If you do, WHY? Have a good day, Red.
-
You must consider this, getting the weight on a big bear is going to be a challenge. Not too many people or places have a scale that will go over 300lbs. Yes, you can string two scales together and hang them from two feet but once again, having a couple scales hanging around isn't real common for most folks. I'm sure, just like deer hunters, that bear hunters just figure it must weigh 500, or 600 lbs because it looks big! You can't guess on these things with ANY hope of getting it correct.

Not me, too far! But.........I might hit the gun show in Alexander, NY on Sunday. Maybe..............

Look at some of the bear killed in PA. I think the Game Commission there has weighed some over 800lbs.

I'm sure you didn't do it but planting one for a youngster to "find" ain't a bad idea. Keep them interested if they need it.

I have two, a 14 yr old girl and a 20 yr old son. Both are for sale. <grin>

Thanks for the green light bubba.

I heard (rumor) that at one time they tried to right a description for a new law on BO but had it all screwed up with bowhunters and duck hunters all required to wear it! Lovely................................ Lets talk about making the shooting hours 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after, like PA and many other states. I see PA hunters don't have to wear a back tag anymore, about time NYS went the same route.
