Opening morning the 1st shot was at 6:34, kinda scary. In my yd pickin up sticks and heard a 5:03 shot 2nite. Stupid!!

Its so much about being in the right place at the right time. Yrs ago our neighbor hunting his/our property line thought it was ok to shoot a big buck well into our property, just plain sucks.

Deff sucks but karma will always bite!! And thankfully there will always be nice bucks!!

Gosh this reminds me, one yr im walking to my morning stand that's quite a distance away. Im a quarter of the way there when I get an excruciating poop pain (ever get those where you almost hit ur knee's). It lasts a few seconds...ok its gone, 3/4 the way i get it again then goes away...ill tough it out. Sit in the stand a few minutes, deer start moving towards me there getting really close, this time the pains to much.. Deer under me I fly down the tree and unleash. There wasn't enough leaves for this one, so I made my way back home. Walk of shame?

What u don't drink b4 u go out?? Very scary that people can be that ignorant. Pretty poor choice, doesn't look like that's his first one either.

I have a little opening on the floor in my permanent stand for those situations. No way im walking back out of the woods to crap. I just lean against the front wall and down she goes. I think walking all the way out is worse than dropping a deuce.

Thanks tater, I was looking on ffc site the other night and seem to be a good deal. We did a tsi improvement a few yrs ago on our one property so im fairly knowledgeable with it. DEC says it may or may not be very profitable Id guess it depends on the property.

I remember in my early yrs we would get up early opening morning and turn the local news on. They use to have reporters at different peoples camps interviewing them. That don't happen anymore.

Gosh, yrs ago we had those jon-e hand warmers. They were great except for the lighter fluid smell that probably carried for miles!! Now I just use the ones u shake. Ive even thought about sewing some little pockets to my undershirt to stick some in on those cold days.

Took my 5yr old out for his 3rd hunt ever. First two hunts we didn't see any from the blind. Tonight he saw the deer b4 I did. 3 doe were coming thru, I grabbed the bow there only 10yrds in front of us then I see a small buck come charging in. He stops shoot maybe 15yrds. We wait a while get out of the blind my sons so excited. Find a clump of hair, start heading the direction he ran but find no blood anywhere. Light runs out so were heading back in the am to give it our all. UGH
