  1. Thanks gman. One of those deal where I set the bag on a shelf in the garage and forgot all about it. Ill give it a try.
  2. I have 1/2 a bag of corn, sunflower, buckwheat & sorghums leftover from last spring. They have been in my garage ever since. Are they ok to use?
  3. 3 of us were walk in the woods opening am still real dark. All the sudden my buddy spots a bird in the trees right in front/above us. We each say crap, basically snuck to the closest tree and sat down. Stupid bird flew down right in front of my bro. BAM.... our quickest hunt yet!! On a serous note, ive never used a blind, 90% of the time I use a hen/tom setup. That setup has worked way more than it hasn't. Find the birds in the evening or get out early and try to hear them gobble on the roost, close in. Make a couple soft calls to let em know your there and see what happens.
  4. Hope it went well. Lets say you get another 3yrs out of her at cost of $1500 that's just over a dollar a day by my math. Well worth it.
  5. If giving a choice between gun or bow, hands down BOW. If bow season is as easy as you say, than gun season should be banned!! Its a big difference between a 30yrd bow shot and a 30yr gun shot. Last I checked a ton of deer get wounded during gun season. Youth hunt, give them machine guns, I don't care!! Crossbow, have at it!!
  6. How can you not be a fan of QDM or QDMA?? Across the board it should be a no brainer. Its amazing there is even a debate. Crazy id say!!

  12. Yeah Id say it tough, I plant a small plot of corn and the coons killed it last yr. Sounds like were in the same neck of the woods and from my experience id stick with a perennial seed like clover. Our property is all timber and so is everyone around us and there isn't a corn field for miles. We started with a 1/4 to 1/2 acre clearing and I planted brassica. It grew great for the first 2-3 inches and the deer wiped it out before October, so i ended up having a dead plot all season. In the spring I went to WI alpha rack and that has worked great and the turkeys like it too!! I think when your areas surrounded in timber + the fairly dense deer population combined with a smaller plot clover is the way to go since it can withstand heavy grazing..
  13. Thanks Mike we appreciate it, will be at yours for sure!! Love these events!!
  14. Hopefully the weather cooperates soon. every time I had a chance to do something it was either 0 out or just way to much snow. I took a walk a couple weeks ago to pull the cam pics and almost had a heat attack from the walk, 9/10 to the cam thru almost knee high snow was tough, haven't been back since.
  15. this winter. I have a list of tree's/hinge cutting I wanted to get done plus upgrading our trail system after adding 45acres this winter. With the consistent heavy snow and low temps I've done nothing. Next thing I know it will be camping season and I haven't even yet firewood
