    I know say Whitetail Institute’s Clover generally last 3 to 5 yrs with proper maintenance. You can always frost seed each winter just to keep the seeds going yr after yr.

    Geez, maybe I’m missing something but it seems like many of your posts you spent most of not all day hunting and not seeing anything. I guess the spots better than you lead us to believe.

    I gotta say Eddie, your Geneseo spot seems to disappoint you just about every time. Why not go in with your boys and lease something somewhere with some better deer numbers. Just my 2 cents!

    That’s where I was born and raised and am moving back to, wife and I bought my grandparents home and move next week. Tons of deer there, like many people we had tons of spots to do drives yrs ago but most are gone now. Parts of Bloomfield are good and others are slim!!

    Funny thing is, up until last yr when we installed the food plot, we (dad, brother and me) only liked to take a doe or two. Once we saw how many deer were feeding in the plot on a reg basis it helped us realize we could shoot 10 doe and have little to no impact. I think the most deer in one pic was a dozen.

    I have no complaints from our spot but we also work our tails off each yr trying to make it better. I saw mostly decent to nice bucks this season and have seen a lot of doe’s. Between both my spots I couldn’t even count how many nice 8pt plus bucks I saw. Son’s a bitches we always to dang far away during bow. Most pics have been night time the last few weeks but am still getting lots of pics.

    I was listening to Bob Lonsberry the other day and he had a dec officer on from reg 8 and they asked him about the after Christmas hunting and he said should hear something real soon!! That would be sweet!! Our movers are coming this Friday so that should take some pressure off!

    Well I contemplated going this am but this moving thing sucks, so I took the extra 2 hrs of needed sleep and got up and moved some more. Now I lay in my recliner hoping I make it to 8pm without passing out! Did see 7 doe cross thru the back yard, I’m guessing they got pushed out of a neighboring wood lot. One mature doe had a big chunk missing off her back also guessing a recent gun miss. Got one stand hung back there today for now, I’ll add some more next yr. should be a great spot as I’ve hunted it in the past!

    We have been in the process of moving the last couple weeks and have a week to go. While at the new house late this am I saw my first buck in my new backyard, looked like a 4 or 6 pt!!

    Interesting, I’d think it could work but in areas with smaller wood lots. If your trying this in large tact of woods I don’t think you will find them circling back as they have tons of other cover to head to. The pocket spots tho could work.

    Can’t control what you can’t control. I do food plots, trees, other improvements the whole 9yds. One of our neighbors are a bunch of city clickers who may benefit, is what it is. Maybe focus on giving these deer a super think and nasty area they can call home (there core area) leave it be and hunt the near the edges.

    I think owning land and leasing other spots defeats the purpose of owning land. 1) sell the land and find something not attached to state land. 2) Take g-mans suggestions and make improvements to where they want to be on your lane when the pressure starts!

    Something I thought was interesting from my brothers buck today. 4 yrs ago I shot my main frame 10 with a sticker for 11pts, anyways mine had what I call a colic, hair stood up behind his neck. His buck does as well, could it be a relative?? Who knows but cool none the less!!
