One thing to always remember is that the market is usually looking and reacting 6 months ahead of where we are right? So this market meltdown was basically looking ahead to what could happen down the road from this. Also keep in mind your buying at price from 3 years ago. Waiting to get in will only cost you future dollars.

I had a different experience with brassica’s than g-man, I planted a plot less than an acre (it was my first seeding) and they whipped it out before bow season.

I use a York take to scratch up the ground behind my house and it works great. I prefer to scratch the surface before spreading seed. FYI whitetail institute has great seed. Logging roads I’d strictly do rye.

Im not sure you can get slay or arrest in NY any longer. I’ve used wi with nothing but good luck. Make sure you use a sunflower oil to mix with arrest or slay, price isn’t bad.

We did that yrs ago, literally as soon as it’s feet hit the ground boom!! Never forget it.

So got 4 replacement pins delivered this past week. Got started today on the holes and I’m feeling damn defeated. I must have dug 5 different holes and hit rock the auger wasn’t busting in every one. Max depth on all of them seemed to be just over 2ft. Not sure if it’s one large shake rock but I tried all sorts of spots with the same results. I’m not sure what the heck I’m gonna do now, wasn’t supposed to be this difficult. I could move to a different location maybe but this was the perfect spot for a few different reasons. Stumped at the moment.

I slept in. Headed to land around 8:30 with a plan of just doing a quick walk and talk. I was only going to walk the one parcel. So my walk and talk is stoping every 50 yrs or so, hit the call and hope for a gobble, I was heading around the back portion of the property and finally lit one up fairly close. Sat got comfy and waited a few min to see if he was coming. He was silent till I hit the call and I could tell he was cutting the distance. Soon after I saw a white head and fan. I’m in hardwoods full of oaks and I cannot for the life of me see how long his dang beard is. Sob pops his head out around an oak tree at maybe 40yrds, perfect shot but I wanted to know how long his beard was. At this point I could tell he wasn’t finding the hen and started back the way he came. Never got a good look at the beard. Damn eyes aren’t as good as they one were.

I just decided I’m going in the am!! Not sure if I’ll take the first beard or hold out. That will be game time decision but I’m excited to hopefully hear them t-off from the roost!! Gl all
